What was the last movie you watched?

And what would you rate it out of 10? I watched Lovely & Amazing (2001), directed by Nicole Holofcener and starring Catherine Keener, Brenda Blethyn, Emily Mortimer, Raven Goodwin, Jake Gyllenhaal, Dermot Mulroney and Clark Gregg. It is about a woman and her three daughters. I rated it a 7/10.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out.

Last night - Raiders of the Lost Ark - hard to believe it's 39 years old. Lots of fun - a 10/10.

Great film. I have the Indiana Jones box set on Blu-ray.

Shutter Island. My third viewing.

reply

Good movie. 8/10.

reply

Not Another Teen Movie...5/10..Probably not really worthy of a 5 but it came out the same year that I graduated hs. And I have fond memories of a date I took to see it.

reply

Yeah, not a very good movie. I rated it a 3/10.

reply

It's pretty awful.

reply

I like it. Especially the first scene if you know what I mean.

reply

I do. I love Jaime Presslys opening lines.

Red Nights (10)
A Belgian, French and Hong Kong produced crime thriller with elements of horror...a bunch of lousy creeps seek a stolen artifact, there are a few nasty bits of torture and murder and some great characters
9/10

Sounds cool.

embarrassingly, the last film i watched last night was escape room from 2017. i hit play on it thinking it was the 2019 escape room, which i remember being a bit of silly fun. this is substantially less good, though i still found it to be an enjoyable time waster. i gave it a 3/5.

in my defense, the last movie i watch before turning in on sunday night is usually some silly piece of horror trash. by the standards of what i generally watch in that time slot, this was not that bad. it could have been much, much more embarrassing.

reply

I haven't seen the 2017 Escape Room, but I did like the 2019 Escape Room.

I watched Tom Hank's favorite movie - 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) For me it was a not.

reply

There are a few of us here who find it equally not.

reply

I love 2001. One of my all time favourites.

reply

It's one of the most boring movies of all time.

reply

Over 50 old and it still looks stunning.

reply

The picture was stunning to watch but the rest wasn't. IMO.

reply

It’s a very divisive film. I like it, but understand why many wouldn’t.

reply

The movie itself is a great movie.
