I don't mean because their performances were so good. I'm talking about movies where you cheer for the people doing criminal activities.

This is true up to a point, but he sort of loses me at the inviso-rape. Not cool Kevin Bacon. I can't not love it though.

I agree he eventually crosses the line but the other characters are so annoying you just don't care about them. You just want to see what crazy thing Sebastian will do next with his powers.

The effects still looks cool i think. Especially the scene where he first goes invisible. It holds up.

That's one of the reasons why I didn't like the film as much as everyone else. Overall it was good, but I just couldn't root for him.

Am I a terrible person if I say No Country for Old Men? Anton Chigurh sort of puts me in a trance and I can't help but like him, despite the disgusting things he keeps doing.

Matilda in Matilda (1996). Yeah, she has crap parents, but she's not necessarily a good guy, either. I hate Miss Honey, though. Same goes for a lot of kids movies - the kids aren't really good guys, but I usually root for them, even Denis the menace and Junior from Problem Child.
