The guys rented the truck, got to my storage, annnd the place is closed for Easter so they can't get in to load up my stuff π
On the plus side, I have more time to finish organising and packing. On the down side, personal organiser/mover doesn't know if his brother will be able to make it tomorrow or not. It's a lot of stuff for one person, but oh well, have to cross the bridge if and when.

I wish you the best. Not counting when my parents moved, I've only done it 3 times in my entire life. One time was with a job transfer and I was fortunate enough to have someone come and pack everything up for me. I think I would rather poke my eye out than have to move, but at some point I will have to downsize and that will be a major undertaking.
shareIt'd been the same for me. Three moves ever. Until the last two years, and this is move # eight. EIGHT! But I'll say this, after move #seven, I gave up on resisting and hating moving and being so unsettled so much. Survival. The choice is either relax and accept as best you can, and look for the positives, or be miserable.
My advice is start now doing little things to help ease your downsizing. Just a few things, whatever comes easiest.
LOL - easier said than done. My husband never throws anything away - not a hoarder the way they are thought of today, but he really has a problem getting rid of anything. I'm just the opposite - I like to purge, except when it comes to my clothing. For some reason I have a terrible time parting with that.

shareI didn't see this one coming π. Yep, today wasn't meant to be the day. And now it's started to rain so it's just as well. I'd checked the weather last week and it said sunny with some clouds for today. Oops.
It does give me more time though, and that takes pressure off me, which is always good. Thinking I'll pack up some stuff and take it over there myself today. Probably fridge/kitchen things, and get take-out for dinner.
It'll be okay, it just threw me for a loop.

That's exactly how I've decided to view it, as a challenge! Otherwise, well, you know, it'd suck.
I've decided to pack up some of the more sensitive things, like the orchid plants, and what I can from the fridge and freezer, and take them over. Got several bags of groceries and I can clean shelves and counters and put some stuff away. It'll be nice to spend some time over there for a little while. A break.
