Will 2020 go down as one of the worst years in modern history?

Well?

reply

Nah, I feel great.

reply

All good here
Getting lots of yard work done and the house is quite tidy

Who knew 'the end of the world' would be so cozy, eh😀

reply

Read "On the Beach" -a couple of the main characters are planting gardens and doing lawn work right up until the end. The book has always fascinated me and I find the pictures of deserted cities being shown on TV and the internet eerily similar to the last shots of the 1959 movie.

reply

Never saw that one but I'll keep an eye out for it, thank you

Staying busy beavers does seem to be a fine way to manage all of this craziness...busy hands, busy mind, I'm completely reconfiguring the fire pits and the garden

This will be the Summer Of Shogun, germs be damned!

The 4th of July is going to kick ass🍺🍺

reply

You got that right. I have a major list of projects to pick from. Today I did all the maintenance on lawn equipment and a generator. Next up i have a pile of primed shelf boards that will be custom closets if I can get motivated.

reply

I'm swapping summer gear from the barn into the garage and winter gear is getting stored away...Let's get this Spring Party started!

Funny, I have a shelving scheme for the garage wall in mind, great minds and all of that👍

reply

Over the last two days I've changed the spark plugs, oil and filter, and today I'm installing new brake pads.
Not bad for a guy who sometimes has trouble just hobbling around!

reply

What kind of vehicle are you working on?

reply

1978 Chevrolet Big 10 😀

reply

Hell yeah. I think Those trucks came factory with no catalytic converters and 3/4 ton upgrades. I love the 78 style with its grill and headlights. I’ve restored many 67-72 and 73-87’s. Great truck you have there.

reply

Yep, no cat, no EGR. Last year and model factory production without those hp killers. Well, except for Dodge's Lil Red Express but that was a special model.
They came with 3/4 and 1ton, while everything else is normal half ton. I got lucky with a 1ton truck.
I love my truck lol.
Thank you for the kind words ;)
After 5 years on a horrible low budget, mechanically she's almost finished. I'm going to have drop spindles and shackles put in with new wheel bearings (of course), then I can start on the body and interior. The body's rotten ;(

reply

I know what your about to get into. Cab corners and rockers were the worst in that body style. Luckily all those parts are out there and cheap. 👍

reply

It's too late. The bumpers are great, hood and tailgate are good, grill is okay, fenders and one door are... fixable. Brother, the rest is rotting away before my eyes lol. The cab and bed have to be completely replaced. I'm looking for a tired old truck with a good body, there's plenty in this area.

reply

You are a handy guy!

reply

Just the perks of a misspent life 😀
(I was gonna say "a misspent youth", but... yeah, I'm not finished yet lol!)

reply

Nope, you're never finished until you give up bud👍

Let's both carry on!

reply

Improving instead of fixing is always more fun!

reply

That's right ;)

reply

All good in the King household.

reply

Nope. There have been plenty worst years in modern history. Is this weird? Yes, and it's taking some getting used to, but hardly the worst.

reply

Possibly, but it's too early to tell yet. Although it might be remembered as ' The Great Toilet Paper Disaster of 2020 ' whatever happens next.

reply

2020 will go down as the year of The Great Coronavirus Hoax. The US government has been manufacturing the common cold for decades. I guess this virus was too lethal so they shot it over to China?

reply

Crawl back to Politics.

reply

One of the years from 1347 to 1351 during the Black Plague.

reply

I wouldn't consider that "modern history" though.

reply

1939-1945

Top answer ☝️

reply

Yeah, there have been a lot of disastrous years in modern history, starting with all of the ones Hitler was in power. Coronavirus isn't a hoax; it's a real problem. However, the hysterical response has been stirred up by the media and other alarmists, blown way out of proportion (just do a bit of research on the number of deaths in an average flu season to put the current panic in proper perspective), and turned into a political tool by the left.
