At the time it was released there was nothing like it. The notion of one person playing all instruments, especially with the rudimentary studio techniques back then, was unheard of.

Personally I love side one but not a huge fan of side 2.

I also like TB2 a lot. And Ommadawn.

But Oldfield has a habit of going back and tinkering with it every few years. There was a TB3 that was not very good, and a few remixed versions that he did.
