I can’t believe Brad Pitt won over Hanks, Hopkins and Pacino!
It’s an acting award right? His southern accent was woeful! I just watched Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and was left thinking “Brads not a great actor” and he wins!

shareTo be fair, that Dinero might have won if his name didn't sound so much like dinner roll.
Crumbs!
I´m more baffled that Laura Dern won for Marriage Story. Her performance was nothing special imo.
shareIs it because of politics?
shareGasp ! What are you suggesting !?
Laura Dern is Admiral Purple Hair in Star Wars and has been part of Little Women. She's actively participating in woke movies. She's rightfully rewarded.
I suppose you're not trying to suggest that acting capability should have some relation with the Oscars, aren't you?
Now I'm glad I didn't watch.
shareShould never have been nominated
shareMaybe Brad knows where the bodies are buried...
I liked OUATIH, but how in the holy hell did he win best actor for that performance? What did he do except just look steely-eyed and cop a bad ass attitude with one facial expression the entire time? DiCaprio actually had to act--had to cry, look demoralized, frustrated, hopeful, etc.
shareYeah there wasn’t any great monologues that I can recall.
shareThe only scenes I remember in this movie involved anyone but Brad Pitt--for example, Luke Perry (who I didn't recognize at the time but left an impression on me for some reason), the little girl actress, Dakota Fanning and her creepy stare, whoever it was that played Steve McQueen, Margot Robbie and her feet, Leonardo DiCaprio and his crazy rant in the movie trailer, etc.
I even remember the hippie ticket booth operator who tells Sharon Tate something like, "Go stand over by the movie poster so everyone can know who you are."
But I don't remember much of Pitt because he was pretty one note the entire time, just squinting his eyes and looking pissed. That was not much of a performance.
WHAT WHAT....THE ONLY STATUE I CARED WHO IT WENT TO.AND MY PREDICTION..LOVED ONCE UPON A TIME AND LOVED PITT IN THE MOVIE...RESPECT!
