Skip California, it's a shithole now. The rest sound great!
shareOh! Why?😮
share I've done work out there a few times in the last couple years. The cities are quite literally overrun with homeless. We started early and saw crews of city workers that have to go around to clean up all of the human feces off of the sidewalks and streets every day, no joke. Traffic and parking is an absolute nightmare, and everything is insanely expensive. In LA, the smog was worse than I'd ever imagined it could be, and it triggered an asthma attack that hasn't been an issue with me in a decade. It's why people are flooding out of California and going to Texas, and I don't blame them. Me and the family had once planned to go to San Fransisco, and I told my wife there is no way I'd vacation out there.
It is sad to hear it. I have already heard somehow in the past that L.A. is dirty and noisy, well I can imagine not in places like Beverley hills or Hollywood e.g., but it seems that L.A. is not nice anymore. May be I still have in my memory the landscape that I saw in my childhood in some movies (e.g. E.T.). Otherwise I have heard that San Francisco is a nice city (and very expensive).
shareI went to SF in 2017. I thought it was quite nice. It´s small enough that you can at least walk and bicycle around. I´ve heard its had a lot of bad media attention for people defecating in the streets. My experience was pleasant though. LA´s beach areas are nice but parts of the city are pretty rough and the traffic sucks.
shareEgypt
Antartica
Japan
India
New Zealand
French Polynesia
I would like to back to Russia and Africa on another safari
Italy and Ireland
shareThere are very nice places in both countries
shareI'm sure of it
When I retire I plan to take my wife all around Europe for a month, see The Black Forest in Germany, The Windmills in Holland and The Eiffel Tower of course
But I mainly want to see As much of Italy and Ireland as I can...kind of a life long dream
A nice plan for sure! In the Netherlands (not Holland anymore 😉) and Germany there are beautiful cities. If you're interested in history then you "must " visit in Italy the Forum Romanum as well as the Coliseum. If you're willing to visit Ireland I would suggest( if you don't mind) to go to Scotland too, a beautiful country.
shareScotland should fit into the plans, I'd like to see The Highlands for sure
shareJapan.
sharePretty much a ton of countries in Europe
Japan
Australia
Egypt
