Pompeii or Herculaneum. I've been obsessed with the Mt. Vesuvius eruption since I was a kid.
A long time ago I would've said Europe, but I'm hearing that it's become totally ruined by mass tourism and corporate stores. I was watching a great walking tour of Rome, and I couldn't believe how many shitty international chain stores I saw there. Who the hell goes to Rome and decides, "I could really go for some McDonald's," or, "I sure miss shopping at the exact same mallrat stores that we have back home!"
Well , it depends on where you are..some places like venice or Capri e.g.are certainly suffering under mass tourism. But you still have here in Europe plenty of places to be visited. Creta, Spain, Scotland, the Netherlands...Yes, McDonald's, Subways and company are everywhere, but you must just ignore them and going to eat something ,for example, where the locals do. Referring to Rome, the Forum Romanum and the Coliseum are absolutely amazing.
shareWell, I'm glad to hear that because I always wanted to see Europe but was becoming depressed about the stories of how mass tourism has been ruining the ambiance, even of the off-the-beaten-path places that only adventurous travelers know about.
shareIt is not soooooo bad,try it and I think you will be not disappointed (of course as everywhere, there are also here places which are nicer than others).
shareHawaii.
shareNot gonna happen but...
New Zealand
Australia
Ireland
Scotland
Sweden
I’d like to say I stepped foot on every continent before I die. But places in particular:
Alaska / Yukon Territory
Japan
China
France
Scandinavia
Somewhere safari-like in Africa
