Does anyone else get hot and sweat really easily?

It’s really annoying, it’s extremely disruptive in my life as I literally have no idea what kind of temperatures I’m going to find myself in and so it’s practically impossible to dress appropriately. People generally have their heat way too high in the winter and their AC way too low in the summer, so I almost never wear long sleeves under my jacket in the winter and dress as light as I can in the summer.

I wish I could just enjoy the heat like people seem to although I’m skeptical of how many people actually “enjoy” it, at least where I live with high humidity. The ONLY way I’m able to enjoy the heat is if water is involved, I kayak a lot in the summer and I enjoy going to the beach on vacation. Other than that I absolutely hate the summer weather and usually have to decline invitations to mid day festivals and concerts.

I do.. I rarely wear even a light jacket. Its 45 at night here and I'm very comfortable in a t-shirt outside.

Where do you live?

reply

I don't like summer either. Too hot, can't go out and do stuff except early morning or late afternoon, and it's not even that humid here (S. California). I would be *miserable* living where it's hot and humid.

This last summer I realised how much I dislike heat, and this winter how much I love weather in the 60s and 70s.

My brother used to love sitting out baking like a lizard in the hot sun. Never understood that. It was usually at least dry heat.

I get overheated and sweaty if I'm dancing a lot.

Only when I'm visiting a girl's hotel room.

:)

I only own one light weight sweatshirt zip up hoody, and I only wear it at night when its below 40 degrees. We treasure the cold here.

Try living in Louisiana. Talk about sweaty summers!

when i played hockey i used to sweat real bad. i had to burn the hockey equipment.

reply

I do. It's one of the symptoms of MS. It's really embarrassing when I'm at a workout class or if I go for a run as my body over heats and sweat just pours off of me. One of the reasons I prefer swimming. One of my nurses gave me ice packs for my bra when I jog, but it's such a pain that I don't use them.

I like summer, but I can't sit out in the heat anymore. It kinda of puts a damper on retiring to Costa Rica, but A/C helps. When you live in a place that has cold winters, it sucks to not be able to enjoy the heat like I used to.

reply

Damn that’s rough, how long have you had it?

reply

Diagnosed 10 years ago, but I started having symptoms closer to 15 years.

reply

you were young. you are still able to jog?

reply

I mostly stick to the treadmill because I don't know how long I'll be able to go. Some days it's 5 minutes some days much longer. If I'm outside, I'll generally just walk.

reply

Not to make light of that but here's something weird about me. I'm not sure why but when I do cardio, I yawn all the time. Its like I can't get enough oxygen. The more my cardio goes up the more I yawn. People do notice and it happens everytime so i can't just pretend like i'm tired.

reply

That is actually a common thing. It helps cool you down.

reply

yes but you don't have a room full of girls looking at you like your're crazy. Not fun.

reply

No, but I do have a room full of prissy soccer moms judging me for being all sweaty and gross. I mean, when women work out, we're supposed to look good doing it. Lol

reply

Oh a fellow everyone is looking at me and I'll pretend I don't care. Cool nice to meet you.

reply

i have pretty much no tolerance for heat. i spend all of the summer months a sweaty mess, and i more or less hate every moment of it. the winter months are a great relief to me, & i appreciate every day that i don't sweat through my clothes.

i know this is a minority viewpoint, but imo summer and everything associated with it can die die die!

reply

You're in Winterpeg right?

reply

i am indeed in winnipeg, and it does get pretty bloody cold sometimes. but what doesn't get talked about enough imo is how miserably hot it gets in the summer.

certainly, when it's -40 with the wind howling in your face, it's a bit tough to put a smiley face on such conditions. but i find it easier to get through those days than i do withering in the endless, droning heat of the summer.

reply

I agree. Even though I live further north than you we can get some pretty hot days in the summer. I"m just glad that it's pretty arid here as humidity makes it so much worse.
