Best snow movies.

My holiday season has been completely green. To fill this empty void of no snow, what are the best snow movies? I'll start with the obvious and say "Fargo".

Horror:
The Thing (1982)
With vampires, Frostbitten (2006) and 30 Days of Night
Rare Exports, xmas horror in Finland
Cold Prey, trilogy, Scandinavian slasher

A very good but unknown one
The Savage Innocents (1960)

Cool Runnings (1998)
Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997)

Smilla! Great call.

Blow
Avalanche scene in XXX
Avalanche scene in Mummy 3
Actually just about any avalanche scene, if you have a really good or better subwoofer(s) in your system

There were a bunch of great snow-set films at the end of the '90s/start of the '00s (i.e., after Fargo's success):

The Sweet Hereafter
A Simple Plan
Affliction
The Claim

I forgot about Affliction. I've never seen it. I should check it out.

Hope you like it. Affliction got a bit lost in the crush of other great movies around back in 1997. It's one of Paul Schrader's best movies for sure, and one of Nolte's best performances. James Coburn is awesomely terrifying as Nolte's brutal father who kind of sets the whole family tragedy in motion. Spacek & Defoe are also great.

Sounds like it could be a decent thriller like A Simple Plan.

Good IMDb score. I'll check it out.
