Does anyone here actually like fruitcake?
Vile stuff.
shareReal fruit cake that is moist can be delicious.
Dry fruitcake with cheap dried fruits is gross and hard to eat.
Rum soaked fruitcake is also delicious but will get you drunk.
I HATE alcohol. Never even drank it in my younger years in my late teens and early 20's. I've seen so much damage that alcohol addiction can lead to that I avoid the stuff. I guess that makes me a "boring" person.
shareI feel the exact same way sir!!
Here's to you!
I was just explaining about different types of the cake which can be tasty.
A mild rum flavor is nice and will not affect you. I prefer to alcohol.
I admit to enjoying that warm rum buzz. Tequila can be quite nice as well. Never cared much for vodka or gin. Whiskey, scotch and those types - eh. Brandy can be nice, in a warmed goblet by a cozy fire. Wine is okay, I prefer sangria so I guess I'm the fruity type lol. I'm a guy so I enjoy a well made beer.
This doesn't make me a bad guy, does it? I don't feel bad.
Okay, well sometimes I feel a little bad... π
Yep. Alcohol is a curse on humanity!
shareAgreed. There CAN be good fruitcake. We rarely see it lol
shareThere's a school that makes fruitcake. A lot of people rave about them.

It's a nice looking place. Cozy is the word ;) Culinary school? I didn't see the curriculum. Seriously, they make Fruitcake? Is it part of a course? I guess you could expect it to be good.
shareIt's a school where after college they leave debt-free. They have to work at the school. They have a restaurant, creamery and bakery. The restaurant is farm to table. There's usda meat that comes from cows and pigs. The ice cream at the creamery is made from the cows they milk. The curriculum is somewhere on that website I sent.
shareActually, at the risk of being apparently simplistic, it sounds like a pretty cool place.
shareHome made fruit cake that is moist and rich is delicious but gives me wicked indigestion.

You mean like Christmas pudding? Because I had some homemade fruit pudding today and it tasted very good. No candied fruits, though, I despise those.
shareYes, itβs ok.
shareNope, it grosses me out. In fact, I'm not a fan of cooked fruit in general, not even most jams. I do, however, like fresh fruit on a cake, especially one featuring cream.
