My salary for 2019 is $177,000. Is this considered a good income in USA/Canada?
Nm
shareYes, I would consider it a very good income.

How does one obtain that salary?
Not from a Jedi...
In New York State, which is stupidly expensive, that is a fine income indeed
Well done!
Really? That surprises me . New York state (with exception of NYC) is expensive? You're telling me places like Buffalo or Albany is expensive? New York state is largely a sh!thole. I can see why California would be expensive because of weather and better scenery.
shareMost of Southern New York State is very expensive, you can expect to pay upwards of $30-40k per raw acre here (no electric, no driveway cut in, etc...)
As far as being an undesirable place to live there are pros and cons
You really should do some further research Jason

It's certainly unfriendly the closer you get to The Bronx and Manhattan
125th Street is a good place to avoid...lovely Brownstone architecture but nothing but big trouble otherwise!
I got stranded in Harlem meeting a work contact once...NEVER again.
Look what the bronx is doing to the tourist visiting the Joker stairs.
shareYeah, I found that out from watching Borat. 😂
shareIf I were to move to NY State, I would move to Buffalo. It seems like a perfect fit for me. I love cold, snowy winters and it's not too big or small. I think it's a college city. Have you been there Yonkers? Judging from your name, I'm guessing you live in NY.
I was up that way years ago, it is pretty country but as you say, very cold half the year...NY State is fairly large so there are lots of interesting areas
I'm downstate, about an hour and a half from Manhattan (I bounced out of Yonkers several years ago but it's a cool town)

Stfu, you know that is good. Hence the term 6 figure income. Weird flex you are doing.
share$100,000 or even $120,000 isn't even that much in a lot parts of the country these days. Probably around middle class. 20 years ago, yes, it was a lot of money and it would probably been upper middle class then . But nowdays, no.
shareIf you can’t make 177,000 work for you so you live a comfortable life, then you’re a showoff over-spender.
