Is it possible Stone is better than Scorsese?
Watching the Aviator the beginning is similar to Alexander but when comes to dark deep bio mindness Stone is usually more original.

shareI love and respect both guys
shareNo, because Stone is a propagandist, not a director.
shareProbably but do you think all of his movies are?
shareI wouldn't say all his movies are. Obviously, The Doors was just a biopic. But he is, for the most part a propagandist, which I have issues with.
For example, he successfully destroyed Turkey's tourism for decades with Midnight Express (which he didn't direct but wrote the screenplay for). And to this day, people use JFK as a reference. That's how good he is as a propagandist. People are often unable to tell what part of his stuff is true and what part isn't, which is not accidental. It's intentional.
I believe that he was a great admirer of Leni Riefenstahl, because he borrowed a lot of her techniques. One of her techniques was blending real footage with actors, which Stone used heavily in JFK. This is a very effective technique at confusing audiences into feeling that what they're watching is rooted in truth.
Nah. Stone has some really cool movies, don't get me wrong. Natural Born Killers will always be one of my all time favorites. But Scorsese is the king.
