I like Tom Cruise movies because the action is top-rated and they are a hell of a lot better than ANY movie from the Rock. And the Rock is no Cruise.
There are maybe two or three movies that I didn't like from Cruise. I'm just saying the moves today are rehashed over and over. I don't like most.

shareyeah, I mentioned the couch jumping as an example of his sometimes odd behaviour, you could include his attitude towards his ex-wives or "suppressive persons" if you like, or his propensity to sue anyone who looks at him the wrong way.
None of it bothers me personally, I guess he's not that important to me.

shareI'm not a huge fan but I think Cruise is a decent actor. I'd say his performance in Collateral is his best so far.
I don't mind Dwayne Johnson either, although I probably wouldn't compare them. Sure, they have both been in action films, but other than that their personalities seem completely opposite. It's like saying Meryl Streep is better than Melissa McCarthy - probably, but that doesn't mean there's not room for both.
I haven't seen Dwayne Johnson in very many movies but I really like San Andreas. The Rundown is decent too.
I think Tom Cruise is a much better actor than most people give him credit for. The last movie I saw him in was Valkyrie (2008) so I don't know what he's done lately, but his earlier roles up through 1999 had quite a few good ones among them.

The Rock is cool too but I bet they'll still be watching Born on the 4th of July in 50 years and not Rampage
Yeah, the Rock is very popular, but he'll never win an Oscar. Even if he is the only one nominated he won't win.

I don't mind The Rock either because you know exactly what you're going to get.
I don't have a problem with the quality of his current films, but they're kind of very same-same. When was the last time Cruise played in something other than an action film? He used to do that, and it was more interesting than what he does now.
shareIt's strange that so few seem to like Cruise but his movies mostly continue to do very well and his career at the top has had greater longevity than almost every other actor.
I guess he tends to pick good projects and treats his profession with great professionalism.
