Anyone else not like all beef hot dogs?
I love a Chicago dog but I much prefer ballpark style dogs.
shareAFAIK, Nathan's are all beef and awesomely delicious. I mean the ones you get in Coney Island, which are the natural casing kind, which grocery stores almost never carry.
Then there is Papaya King and Gray's Papaya in NY. They are also all beef natural casing and I don't know a better dog.
The ubiquitous Sabrett Hot Dog in NYC is also all beef.
I'm wondering if it is the ingredients or the style you are referring to. I prefer the skinnier NY dog to the Chicago style.
Nathan's are delicious.
shareMy dad grew up in the 30’s and 40’s in New York and he would always talk about Nedick’s hot dogs.
shareI'm old enough to remember Nedick's. But they are childhood memories. I suspect that nostalgia makes them better than maybe they really were. I think Gray's, Papaya King, and Nathan's are better. But I bet 1940s NYC was pretty great. I would have loved to have seen the NY Rangers at MSG back then.
