Would you watch a movie about the 9/11 attacks told from the perspective of the terrorists?

Based on this book in particular:

Perfect Soldiers: The 9/11 Hijackers: Who They Were, Why They Did It

https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Soldiers-Hijackers-They-Were/dp/006058470X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3TKVYN68QUS80&keywords=perfect+soldiers+9%2F11&qid=1567647587&s=gateway&sprefix=perfect+sold%2Caps%2C181&sr=8-1

reply

I might. It would depend on the director, cast, and reviews.

reply

You could say that about any movie.

reply

True.

reply

I wouldn't be in a rush to see it.

reply

Why not? How is it harmful to see things from a different viewpoint?

reply

Absolutely. It would be fascinating. You can't just put you head in the sand and pretend it didn't happen. At least we might learn something to put ourselves more on guard if there is ever a next time.

reply

Absolutely, I’ve always found it mind blowing that no one has ever really seemed to care why it happened

Very thought provoking question, hownos. 🤔 My answer would be NO! I honestly don’t give a rat’s patootie as to *why* they did it....I just know the murdering scumbags did it! If a group of thugs did a home invasion and murdered my family, I wouldn’t be trying to find out *why*....I would want them dead and gone ASAP!

reply

if the group of thugs did it time and time again , targeting only your home , and getting away with it, and were *still* doing it , and you didnt know when the next one was coming ...

would you want to know why then?

reply

Probably. I wouldn't NOT watch it over some ideological reason. I'm not sure this is what I look for in entertainment, however. Not exactly Top Hat or Brigadoon.

reply

There are plenty of dark movies that are entertaining. Schindler's List for example.

In truth I don't watch a lot of movies lately. I end up playing around here while a movie is on. Like Baby Doll from 1956. It's on right now, critically acclaimed and I haven't seen it before. But it seems like a tough slog so I'm screwing around here. And last night I could have seem Guardians Of The Galaxy but I don't think it's for me. I have a hard time connecting with films currently, so if I were to indulge I'm not sure your suggestion is something I would pursue.
But I wouldn't avoid it like some of the patriot's have stated already.

reply

I would. It might provide some insights on how to better prevent these atrocities.

reply

I agree. I watch movies about bad people all the time whether they be Nazis, skinheads or the Manson Family. It doesn't mean I will agree with them or end up being sympathetic to their views.
