Movies about unrequited love?
The Third Man
shareI was always disappointed that Jackie Brown and Max Cherry didn't end up together...they would have been a nice couple
shareWhile a happy ending would have been nice I don't think it would have been as a poignant or as true to life as the one we got. As besotted with Jackie as Max might have been he was also very attached to his familiar life. And while the world Jackie offered might have been tantalizing it would upend a world Max, while bemoaning frequently, was also a world he belonged to and ultimately, he knew, gave him a measure of comfort. Haven't we all been in Max's shoes at some point: offered a chance to get out of a far-from-ideal world but ultimately turning down the opportunity because we'd rather stay in a world we know, as fucked up as it is, than one better ... but alien and uncertain?
shareWell, that's a damn fine point...never thought of it that way

Not really. I can't imagine turning that down.
But that wasn't unrequited love! They were totally in love and I like to believe Jackie eventually came back and took him with her to Spain. The man was close to retirement anyway!
shareThe movie they haven't made about my life.
shareUnless it was the Hunchback movies. They fit.
