I'm not sure I've ever actually seen any. I prefer my westerns in television form like "Gunsmoke" and whatnot.

reply

I liked all of the Eastwood ones

Four for the Apocalypse (75) was a very good one AND it was directed by Lucio Fulci who usually did a better job than you'd think given some of his low budgets

reply

Wow.. I’ve seen all the Fulci horror but have yet to check out his other genres. I’ll put it in my list!

reply

It's really good, please do
Those Italian directors from the 70s and 80s could mimic anything that was popular at the time to turn a buck and a lot of them were great

Check Amazon Prime if you have that👍

I’ll let you know after and tell ya what I think!👍

Please do

I watched Four and the Apocalypse last night. This is one of those I think is going to require a second viewing for sure. I started out not really being into it because of the 70’s folkish music and the 70’s vibe running through a western but it won me over by the end. It’s definitely a Fulci film with the funny lighting and style. I loved the ending and am still gathering my thoughts on its message. Thank you for recommending it. 👍

reply

I should have mentioned it's a bit 'off beat'
Glad you had some fun with it though!

reply

If it’s your favorite spaghetti western I knew it would be good.

For a Few Dollars More (1965)
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966)
Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

reply

There’s a comedy from around 1984 called Rustler’s Rhapsody that makes fun of the different western subgenres.

reply

Would City Slickers qualify?

reply

Although not a spaghetti western that was one funny movie! I haven’t seen it since it first came out but I’ll never forget when Jack Palance is found dead Billy Crystal says “What do you expect? He ate bacon every morning!” 😀

reply

I like the five man army with Bud Spencer.

reply

I think Argento wrote or co directed that one. I need to look it up and watch it again.

reply

I watched it again and I had forgotten the pilot from Airplane is in it! Good movie.
