If either/or than really any film about monarchs, such as any number of films about Elizabeth I or Henry VIII. Also I liked Lady Jane with a 20-year-old Helena Bonham Carter. Nicholas And Alexandra (1971) is pretty lavish. A number of films about British aristocracy like Gosford Park. For America maybe the Great Gatsby. For TV miniseries, Fall of Eagles, Rome, I, Claudius.
As to secret societies, other than the obvious answer of Mafia, Yakuza, and Ninja movies, I'm a bit stumped when it comes to something based on non-fiction. (Not that you are specifically asking about non-fiction. The Dan Brown/Tom Hanks movies come to mind which I imagine are totally exaggerated about the Illuminati.) Not so easy to have a secret society in the internet age.
Edited: Here is a great entertaining episode of Fall of Eagles about the ruling class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIzOtoTn9kI
