What are you all listening to?
I've got Tom Petty going here
The guy was a boss!
You?
Queens of the Stone Age
shareI had a YouTube session this afternoon of Yes, Genesis, ELO, Petty, Macca, Winwood, Supertramp, Styx, The Who amongst others.
shareNice!
I've got U2 just now...mixing up a rum drink👍
Beer day for me. I like YouTube’s intuitive playlist suggestions. Every now & again it’ll come up with something I’ve not heard before & I think, oh go on then; I’ve discovered a few good bands that way.
shareSeems to be working out👍
The belligerent American asshole in me wants to shout 'are you spying on me?!?' and 'this means war!' but yes, those playlist suggestions are often helpful

Got to stay away from music on You Tube. I end up spending a couple of hours stuck clicking on one song after another.

Don'y know much about this band but I love this song

Love Whitesnake.
shareThey went through a number lineup changes -- esp on guitar(s)
shareApparently, David Coverdale is difficult to work with, hence the ever changing roster.
shareHe's the boss. Except for the early years, before they blew up in the 80s, the other members are just hired guns. He always brought in top flight guitarists -- but they were just employees with contracts. Axl Rose did the same with GnR after the real band blew apart.
shareAxl Rose, David Coverdale, I see a trend forming.
shareCarl Palmer Drum Solo (starts at 4:20 but worth watching the whole thing)

One of my favourite drummers.
shareYou are obviously a man of taste.
shareVery kind of you to say. I really liked it when he was in the band Asia. He was always very concise and not too flashy.
shareI'm an Asia fan and saw them as a re-united band as shown in the video. (Not that particular show.) Palmer's brief solo on "Wildest Dreams" from their debut album is a favorite. Obviously I am also an ELP fan. Saw a show when they reunited around 1993. Palmer is the last surviving member!
Edit: Incredibly concise/precise but has his flashy moments. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
I’ve got all the Asia & ELP albums and I know the solo you’re on about (I love it too!). My wife bought us tickets for one of my birthdays to see Asia here in Bournemouth about 7 or 8 years ago (they did ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ & Geoff Downes wore his sparkly Buggles jacket for extra effect).
Unfortunately, ELP were one of those bands I never got to see, which is why for the last few years especially, I’ve tried to see as many of the old guard as I can before it’s too late.

Edit: He wields the left hand drum stick in the traditional manner
Guess I don't have a crush anymore but the voice is still there

I saw this tour in Brooklyn but this is better quality video. One of the best concerts I ever saw, even for this old chunk of coal. One thing I'd like to know. are those two guys actually doing anything?
