If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman

Classic oldie
I don't know the girl but who doesn't know this song 10/10
I don't know her either, I heard it on an internet radio station, I was surprised to see she had five Top 40 singles, of which this was the highest, at No. 1. (Of course I've heard it before.) She's from Hawaii.
shareI had no idea, I should look up her other hits
Me and my Lady dig this one
She sang back up for Clapton on some of his best 70s and maybe early 80s albums. Not just back up but a featured performer, an important part of the overall presentation.
And not coincidentally, rather attractive in the looks department.
Good stuff, I had no idea about the Clapton connection
And yes, she's real pretty for sure
I searched to remind myself about her career, and she was in the original cast of JC Superstar.
She wasn't just some one-hit wonder, and most 1-hitters I'm sure worked very hard to get what they got.
Yvonne is in my favorites category, from her work with Clapton and being more than that.
Got to post it here. Who ever thought Todd Rundgren would cover a Dutch Christmas song???

So as I'm listening I Google Flappie. As soon as I read it is about a boy whose rabbit goes missing on Christmas Day, only to reappear as the Christmas Day meal, I shut the song off. Tell me what I am missing.
shareThe ending!😆
shareLOL. I meant, of course, what is the appeal of the song, it sounds sad. Nothing wrong with a sad song, but for Christmas?
shareDark humour should be possible at Christmastime, no? How about Gremlins or Scrooged or Bad Santa? But did you listen to the ending? The ultimate revenge story!😆
shareDid the kid kill his father (who had killed Flappie)?
I am finding this all rather bizarre...this is not Scrooge (I am not familiar with Gremlins or Bad Santa)
Here you go Shogie - lead track from the latest AC/DC album PWR Up! Classic Rock - No wonder they hit No.1 worldwide.
