shareMassachusetts...it's pissah!
shareSorry. What does pissah mean?
shareA common expression in Boston is wicked pisser but since Boston people have some kind of defect that prevents us from pronouncing r's, it's pronounced pissah. That type of joke kills in the northeast lol
shareOkay. I have cousins in the Boston area, but I'm not familiar with this expression.
shareHave you heard of the show Wicked Tuna based out of Gloucester Mass? The name of the show is a spin on the expression
shareNo, haven't heard of that show.
shareYeah I've never watched an episode but I'm originally from that area so its impossible for me not to be aware of it. It was basically cashing in on the popularity of Deadliest Catch and just follows tuna fisherman out of the area.
shareI can understand checking out a show like these, just to see what those who do these things deal with, but I can't see watching it for any length of time. Shows like Ice Road Truckers or whatever - yep, for a few episodes but then I'm done. Frankly, most of today's TV bores me. I find older stuff more interesting, and right now I mostly watch British TV shows, especially murder mysteries like Shetland or Endeavour.
shareI remember someone telling me they were filming an episode of Wicked Tuna and they had tied a bucket of sand to a line to simulate having a catch. That basically tells me everything I need to know about reality TV...mainly that there's very little reality involved.
shareI agree completely. Reality TV is anything but. A total crock.
