Iconic movies you don't like.
You know you got them. I'll start:
Platoon
Singin' in the Rain
Ben-Hur
The Gold Rush
Rear Window
Chariots of Fire
Stand by Me

The Shawshank Redemption
Wah?! Rear Window is one of Hitchcocks's best. I'm actually going to see it in theatre next week!
Taxi Driver (Jodie was great though)
Goodfellas
Casino
Scarface
Citizen Kane (shot and staged masterfully though)
Toy Story 3 (hmm, Citizen Kane is a bit of a toy story too)
Vast Majority of War Movies (historical type)
You really don't like Scorsese.
shareThat's a misnomer... I really dislike mafia/gangster/crime-centric movies in general, they're almost always the same thing.
Scorcese just happens to do a lot of those, BUT he is a great director otherwise and I'm always on the lookout for his movies.
My favorite Scorcese: Bringing Out The Dead, BY FAR. Absolutely love this movie, it was eye-opening. Scorcese basically aped Oliver Stone's style, and did it better than Oliver Stone would have.
I'm similar on Coppola, The Godfather IS indeed a good movie, but the mafia side of it leaves me empty. The "family" vs family is separate from that, just linked.
Favorite Coppola movie: Bram Stoker's Dracula, one of my favorite movies of all time.
=)
Vertigo
Toy Story
raging bull
blade runner
Yep
The Princess Bride
Star Wars franchise
V for Vendetta
There Will Be Blood
(Most any) James Bond Movies
The Exorcist
Top Gun
Chinatown
Grease
The Sting
Dumb and Dumber
As a side note I do like almost every other film mentioned on this thread except for those on my list
I can agree on some, but not on others. I guess Chinatown and Princess Bride stand out. They are riveting films if you want to enjoy them, and obviously, very different.
shareE.T. Too slow for me.
