I was / am on a small hockey site, and one day I took a moment to gurgle how pretty Kathryn Tappen from NBC is. I quipped "I'd like to be Tappin' that !" I got a response from someone I didn't recognize that simply said "Tap." I always wondered if someone can get a notification every time their name shows up in social media. Heck, she might have been flattered.

There was one of her interviewing Morgan Freeman who was just drooling all over her. I left a comment along the lines of women drawing like sluts and then complaining via #metoo as this around the time Freeman was under fire.
Next thing you know the reporter posts in response saying she has never made complaints like that.
I didn't notice it was the reporter herself who uploaded the vid!

shareI recall when The X files was in it original run that David Duchovny said he would get in the fan sites and chat rooms and sometimes even say who he was and of course no one believed him.
A smart writer or producer would be getting in sites like this to see first hand what people are thinking and wanting. But I doubt they have that mind set.
They do, they have people in film studios who do actual research, they are called market research analysits.
