do you prefer eating potato chips or popcorn?
Me I prefer eating potato chips.
shareNeither. That crap is bad for your health.
shareYou could always make your own.
shareYou exaggerate. Nothing wrong with some potatoes or corn. There are healthy options out there. Or like Padeen says, you can always make it yourself.
sharePopcorn has fiber!
shareAnd that's actually something I need more of! I might give that salted caramel popcorn I recently bought a try!
shareI have to be careful. I can eat an entire big bowl of popcorn by myself. I make it myself in my popcorn maker. No butter, just a bit of salt. Yum. I hate picking it out of my teeth, though.
shareMy mother hates popcorn for that exact reason.😆
shareI'll admit that there are times when I want some and then think, "do I really want to spend the time afterwards to pick it out of my teeth?" It isn't often that I say no.
shareI think I gave up on popcorn for this very reason. It has been so long I'd plumb forgot. By now I guess I could put up with it at least once. Someone gave me some microwave popcorn and by the time I made it, it had gone bad. Didn't know that was possible.
shareActually, regular popcorn without butter is perfectly good for a person and for one's teeth, to boot, because it has fiber in it. One cup of ordinary popcorn with no butter has only 55 calories to it, and is perfectly good as a snack, or as a meal supplement.
shareI never caught on to rice cakes either. They both taste like packing material.
shareThat fiber is insoluble and those calories are empty. Even if there was any nutrition in corn, you wouldn't be able to absorb it without the butter. It's no coincidence that the rise of grain agriculture coincides with modern epidemics of tooth decay and insulin resistant obesity. Potatoes are a much better option, with lots of butter and lots of salt.
shareThe skin of the potatoes are what have all the nutrients and vitamins and fiber in them. Sweet potatoes and/or yams are even better for people, because they've got more fiber in them than white potatoes do.
shareIs 'both' a valid response?
Your thread, your rules Sweet
Last night I had white cheddar popcorn...it was great but may not stack up to Pringles...I need to think this one through
White cheddar popcorn is SOOO good!😋

I'm seriously pondering the White chedder popcorn vs Pringles question and you try to sway me?
That's akin to jury tampering young lady!

chips
shareI like both, it just depends on my craving. I prefer popcorn when watching movies.
shareDefinitely. Same here. Chips = too much grease.
shareThere certainly is a connection between movies and popcorn. As an adult I've avoided popcorn, but we had a well-used popcorn maker when I was a kid.
And speaking of movies and popcorn, there is a funny scene in the movie Diner where Mickey Rourke and his date are watching a movie and he manages to put his "johnson" through the folded bottom of the of the popcorn cup. She keeps grabbing for popcorn, feels his thing then storms out of the theatre. Too funny !
Popcorn.
shareWith me I don't like the aftertaste of popcorn and I hate how it gets stuck in between your teeth
