Does it annoy you when people cough into their hand?

I work with the public and am constantly appalled at how many people unflinchingly cough and sneeze into their hands and then try to hand me money. It’s especially irritating when they’re obviously sick.

Even toddlers know to cough into the crook of their arm, I thought this was common knowledge in 2019.

I hadn't heard about coughing into one's elbow until a couple of years ago. It makes sense, so I've done it ever since, although I haven't been sick for years. I think it's been/is being taught in schools, so kids are more aware of it than adults.

That said, it sucks that you've got to be on the line that way, and that so many people are unaware that they're blithely giving you their germs on their money.

Coughing directly into somebody's face is far more than just annoying! Utterly disgusting--and inconsiderate is more like it.
