Expressions you rarely hear these days

That's how the cookie crumbles.

I just used that one a few days ago lol.

Good! Nowadays it seems like people say "It is what it is" instead, which sounds lame to me.

reply

That is a lame one
WTH does that even mean?
Of course it IS something!!
Annoying

I find myself using “It is what it is.” To me the phrase denotes “That’s the way it is...cookie-wise.” Nothing can be done about the situation so we have to live with it.

Daddy-O.

Ha!
That's my Father-in-Law's name on my phone whenever he texts or calls
He's crazy about Doo Wop and MoTown so it's fitting👍

Hell's bells.

reply

I still use this tbh
Maybe because of ACDC

reply

I use hell’s bells & cockleshells!🤷‍♀️

“The bells of hell tolled to signify the arrival of a wicked person when they died. Cockle shells were the symbol of St James and were worn on pilgrim's hats in mediaeval times to show that they had visited the shrine of St James of Compostela. Therefore the symbology is of the very wicked and the very good - and everything in between.”
