Yes, but not growing up. In my 30s they finally dropped their shit and started treating my like a fellow person and now in my 40s we're sort of tight. They're almost 80. It took them getting old, feeble and losing their marbles to finally start treating folks with respect. They'd still be horrible selfish people if they were young and able bodied, i've no doubt.

only time I speak to my dad is to ask for money and palm my face every time my mom calls speaks, they are divorced

i got my own bank account in 2016 but since i moved back from westcoast in 2018. ive been asking my father for money once a month, because of my debt i created trying to balance with disability money i control

we had a joint account but it was mine but once during my mental illness diagnoses i bought a busticket to newyork 2009 to move there and he freaked so im an aduylt and he is an old man so i didnt see any reason he needed to control me, but nothing came out of my westcoast trip other than rich experiences

im glad i got to experience the westcoast but sad and angry i couldnt commit to fulltime work, but at least i didnt turn out like manson or the lady who shot andy warhol

Yes :). They were always there for me when growing up, and I have learned a lot from them. They're currently helping my brother and I train for our future jobs.
