What's a regret you have?

I wish I hadn't quit baseball.

reply

I quit a very well-paying, senior management job a couple of years ago to start my own business. It failed and now I’m bankrupt.

So that’s one regret.

Were you a pro baseball player?

reply

That's terrible. Can I ask what the business was?

reply

Software development

reply

I hate to be Mr. Butt-insky but at least you had the guts to go for it Tex👍 That says a lot about your character

True grit will win in the end

reply

Thanks buddy, very kind of you to say.

reply

Hardly. I played a little when I was young. I was pretty good. But, at one point, I faced a few setbacks, and instead of weathering these setbacks, I let them go to my head. Which is a shame since, in addition to being good at the sport, I enjoyed it a great deal as well.

reply

It's a great game and my personal favorite.

reply

I wish I hadn't trusted certain people online so easily and assumed they were my friends. They weren't.

reply

You can’t trust an anonymous source like the internet, as much as I think a good hearted soul like you seem to be may want to. The digital landscape is rife with predators, lunatics and riftaff. None is whom s/he pretends to be. Protect yourself. You seem to be an admirable person.

reply

Thank you, you are kind :).

You can't speak your mind anymore online without someone getting set off and labeling you, in addition to banning and lying about you to everyone else in the community. The worst part is, most are so gullible as to listen to the liars and not even ask you what really happened.

reply

You are most welcome.

Stupidity is rife, and nowhere more than in the anonymous digital domain.

Very few in what was once called cyberspace listen, or read, or think. My take is that that you are not among them. You were pointed out to me by a cherished friend who is also above this place, and whose observations I respect.

She likes you, so you matter to me, for what that is worth.

reply

Awww, thanks :)

reply

Punching someone in the head.

reply

Going to college.

When my second daughter was born, the midwife asked me if I wanted to catch the baby, and I wimped out. I wish I’d done it.

reply

Don't be too hard on yourself Kazak
I bet most guys would wimp out

reply

On a lighter note: sitting through every episode of "Lost."

reply

I never made that mistake
From what they tell me I was lucky!

reply

Well, at least i learned from "Lost." Case in point: "Manifest," the new "We-know-where-we're-going-I-swear" series that I fortunately have given a wide berth.

reply

Never heard of it but it's now on the 'Will Avoid' list

Thanks for the heads up

reply

A good rule of thumb: if you see a preview for a new TV series and your immediate thought is along the lines of: "Rod Serling could have probably told this story in twenty-four minutes ... wait, maybe it wouldn't hurt to go check out some episode summaries of old "Twilight Zone" episodes because I think he did ..." that's a good enough excuse to avoid said series.

"Lost": the most padded twenty-four minute episode of "TZ" ever.

reply

LOL😃

Correct and noted!

There are quite a few women I wish I had hung on to when I was younger. This is poorly worded, makes it sound like I wished I'd hung on to multiple women, haha. The funny thing about this is, had I done so, I might be sitting here wishing I had hung on to a different one. I didn't know how to nurture a relationship and thought we'd both figure it out. Instead, the women didn't seem to understand where I was coming from, which was rife inexperience. But I'm alone now, so I wish I'd been able to hung on to one of them. Some were gfs, others women I'd dated but never got serious with. I feel like mentioning first names, but what's the point? I know who they are, they don't and you don't.

When I was in kindergarden or so, I told a girl I wouldn't be her friend anymore if she didn't put her mouth on her brother's junk. Regrets aren't really useful, but I can't forget this.

You make me laugh in a wicked way, but you knew that. ;D

Carter, on the other hand, makes people cringe, and just gave himself something more to regret.

reply

I don't care how other people react to me, gave that up a long time ago. All I care about is following my principles. And no, I didn't get registered as a sex offender for something that I did in kindergarden.

You have been KANED!! Welcome to the club.

If you decide to stick around, you'll learn to ignore his ravings like most of us do.
