Do people in America really...

... leave a spare key to their house hidden outside, under a rock or something, like we see in the movies? Why would they do such a silly thing? What about safety?

reply

The rock protects it. Mine is also guarded by an elite team of commando squirrels.

LMFAO over here! Good one, Jack! I'm so glad you're back. Wow. I'm a poet, and I know it.

reply

Glad you enjoyed it!

I locked myself out of the house once. Locksmith got here in less than 30 minutes and I was back inside 5 minutes after that. So I don’t really have to worry about hiding a spare key. I just do it to keep my killer squirrels busy, otherwise they might turn to a life of crime.

LOL!

I bet you're gonna ask where we live in your next thread!

reply

I do that, in the UK.
Its come in very handy a few times.
How safe it is all depends on how well hidden it is i guess. You might have a half acre property to select a hiding place from.

reply

I don't think anybody does that these days. Anyway sometimes a key is not even needed. Home invasions have taken over.

reply

I keep an extra car key and the house key under my car. My wife does the same. I had to use it once after locking my keys in the car.

reply

I do not
I dont know anyone who does
Give me your address so I can pop by sometime and we will see how well you hid the keyπŸ‘

reply

everything i own has a clap-on clap-off unlocking scheme. i keep the clapping sequence a closely-guarded secret.

reply

My grandparents used to do this. They had a key hanging from a nail on their deck.

reply

Back in their day you could do that. WAY too much scum and villainy these days.

reply

It's a very sleepy, quaint town. Barely any crime. I still wont do it though.

reply

A wise move on your part. You never know.

Paris Hilton used to keep a key under her mat. Remember those wealthy teens who were robbing celebs? They got into her house by simply checking for a key in the usual places. It was on video.

After she was robbed she continued to leave the key there and they did it again.

reply

Apparently she's an idiot.

😎

reply

I just looked it up. It was called the Bling Ring. She had the key under the mat but the door wasn’t even locked. They chose her first because they thought she was dumb.

reply

Apparently they were correct.

😎

reply

Dumb and rich. They robbed her several times before she noticed.

reply

Being that dumb, she's lucky that she's rich.

😎

reply

Whatever happened to her anyway?

LOL what a joke. β€œI’m so happy. I’ve been working and been super busy."

If the rumors are true, by working she means yachting.

reply

Or tennis.

😎

reply

Tennis is a hobby. Yachting is a form of the world's oldest profession.
