And by classic, I mean anything over 40+ years.

"The World, the Flesh, and the Devil" (1959) starring Inger Stevens, Harry Belafonte, and Mel Ferrer is one. I'm not saying it is the best, but it is the only one I can think of.

reply

You are right - it is not the best movie.

The Thing 1982

Taxi Driver (76) if isolation from society counts

reply

If that counts I'll add Repulsion

reply

Ive never seen it but from the synopsis it sounds fitting

reply

Great film. You should check it out

reply

Does Cast Away count?

reply

why wouldn't it ?

reply

Probably not an old enough movie, but it's what I think of when BillHicks mentioned isolation.

(I'm not real deep...)

reply

I ignored the Classic part.

reply

We'll call it "new classic." No, wait. "Contemporary classic." Sounds "classier."

reply

Well if we are doing neo classics too, then I nominate Into the Wild.

reply

Castaway was a great isolationist movie 👍
