The Coven season of American Horror Story

Anything horror really ([sarcasm]just for a change[/sarcasm]).

I love anthologies so I love finding films like like Trick R Treat, All Hallow's Eve 1 & 2 and Tales of Halloween that I haven't seen before during the season. Even though they tend to be lower budget or not the greatest I can always put on something a bit more up market after.

Things that are part of a series are good too like Hatchet, Friday the 13th etc. so I can watch more than one. Even though not Halloween related, horror films in general just seem more potent during Halloween. Well they do to me anyway :D

I really like the anthology films too. Some of my faves are:
Campfire Tales, 1997.
Tales From The Dark Side, The Movie, 1990 (I loved the TV show too!)
Cat's Eye, 1985
Creepshow 1 and 2, 1982 and 1987
Those are just a few.

Can't remember if I've seen Campfire Tales. I think I'm getting it mixed up with After Midnight in my head. A good excuse as any for a (re?)watch to find out :)

reply

I've noticed that there are more than one Campfire Tales. I like the one from 97. I haven't seen any other one. They might be good too.
I just remembered another Anthology movie from the 80s. Nightmares. That was pretty good. I'm having a hard time finding it though. I haven't seen it in many years.

reply

I've seen Nightmares although tbh I only remember the Bishop of Battle segment. I'm sure I seen it was released on blu-ray on Amazon a while back.

reply

I remember that segment too. Emilio Estevez!
I'll have to check that out. Thanks.

Home Alone 1 & 2 (I don't know why)
The Sixth Sense
Mean Girls
Blood and Chocolate
Nightbreed

Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Goosebumps
Twilight Zone

reply

Christina Ricci MADE the Addams Family movies.

reply

I've always been a fan of her children's films. She really was the golden child of comedy/horror in the 90s.

reply

I’d forgotten that she was in Casper, too! Her rendition of Wednesday Addams made Daria look congenial. So dry and arch; a great performance out of one so young.

Whew! Just looking at these, and seeing that I own most of them, and what I don't have, I can rent or stream, I think I had better get started right now!
October comes early this year! 🎃
Thank you MovieChat, for all the info I need! Keep them coming!

Pumpkinhead, featuring Lance Henriksen as a revenge-bent redneck who raises a monster with a curse, and it isn’t “fuck you.”

Whats the deal with the two Exorcist Prequels? They're one year apart, both starring Stellan Skarsgard as Father Merrin. Usually on tv around Halloween time and I always get them confused. I don't remember which one I like better lol.
