Well to be technical, perhaps Slimer flying toward the camera at the end of Ghostbusters, since he's an actual ghost.

Trying to think of a real answer, though. I love a good ending, one of the reasons I'm a big Nine Inch Nails fan. Trent believes in ending a song in a memorable way, not just letting it peter out.
