Sept. 11th. Never Forget....

Hard to believe it has been 18 years already.
Correction. 17 years. My newscaster had it wrong.

reply

Why? What happened?

reply

Not funny, dumb ass.

😐

reply

What about the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing?

The New York Times and Intelligence Communities lied about WMDs. That's what we ought to remember. They're trying to do the same thing again in Syria. Liberals are all too happy to "forget".

reply

I remember it was a Cheney / Bush inside job. Our nation has never been the same since = military autocracy.
Cheney and his buddies made a lot of $$ on this one and they are still doing it today, while the self-righteous wrong wing wants to label everyone with brown skin a terrorist.

reply

According to my mother, she got a call that day from her mother (my grandmother) who for the record was born in 1926 and is still alive today. Anyway, she is old enough to remember the Pearl Harbor attack and supposedly according to my mom she said "This reminds me of Pearl Harbor" and then burst into tears.

reply

Oh yeah John Ritter died...Thanks

reply

Don't forget about Johnny Unitas.

reply

Not funny MI. Not funny at all.

😐

reply

Oh, shut the fuck up. Go back to filmboards you jackass.

reply

Exactly.

reply

Naughty, naughty, naughty MI.

I just reported you to the Mods, so you might be getting a little love letter from them for "flaming". The little old ladies who run this place get their panties in a twist at the drop of a hat, or in response to vulgar name calling.
BTW profanity is the crutch of the ignorant.

😎

reply

That's awfully rich coming from a filmboards troll. BTW only cry baby bitches report people.

reply

I tried it the other way MI, fighting fire with fire, and I was the one who was constantly getting my wrists slapped. So now I play by their uptight rules, even though I don't like them. That's one thing I like about FB. You have freedom of speech there. If someone tells you to F off, you tell them the same thing, and nobody bothers you.

And I prefer to think that I'm helping clean up this place by reporting vulgar reprobates like you, so that they don't descend to the FB level.

😎

reply

Sigh... you are right, I have been a rude jerk. And I'm not sucking up to the mods because they actually never reprimanded me. I am apologizing because I realize that I was wrong.

reply

I don't think you are.

reply

Both parties are stupid for getting into an internet fight. And yes, he said some things that I disagree with, but I also said some inappropriate things.

reply

But you will learn in time that he likes to fight. That's why he's active on FB.

reply

Apology accepted. So we're good?

😎

reply

What is said is mild compared to that other place.

reply

I hope so. I really don't like to fight, but I got heated and let it get the best of me. If you say we're good, then we're good.

reply

Excellent. We're good, Bro.

😎

reply

Not funny pop. Not funny at all.

😐

reply

John Ritter needs to be remember.. If you don’t like him, sorry but he did died on this date...

reply

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of things happened on Sep 11, but I don't give a rat's ass about any of them. I did like JR, but his death pales in comparison with the almost 3,000 innocent people who were slaughtered on that day by cowardly, barbaric, Radical Muslim Extremists.

😐

reply

I don’t get involved in these kind of political discussions.

Movies & Television is my kind of discussion...It’s my escape fantasy from the real world.

reply

So then do us all a favor and drop out of the conversation. Problem solved, and you're welcome!

😎

reply

All I said thanks for the date Sept 11 cos I forgot John Ritters birthday. You’re making an issue out of nothing...

The 911 day has no affect on me. I don’t know anybody who died at the WTC...This include the JFK assassination & all wars..

My grand father died on Sept 11 95, Am I supposed to stop remembering him also cos Sept 11 is only reserved in your opinion for the 3000 victims...

reply

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, but you're the one making it an issue, because you keep responding. You won't let it go. Are you just determined to have the last word?

As to your statement that 9/11 didn't affect you, if that's the way you feel, fine. But then John Ritter's death didn't affect me, and I have no idea why it affects you so much. Why is the death of one actor more important to you than the deaths of 3,000 people? Seems your priorities are a bit screwed up.

Why don't you simply drop out of the conversation? Then there's no issue. Problem solved, and you're welcome.

😎

reply

I didn’t say anybody dies is more important than another...

Actually when Ritter died, I continued my day like it was nothing...I think it was more of my childhood memories dying than the man itself...It’s a hard to explain...

When I think of Three’s Company, I remember like my childhood home, friends at schools talking about the show...

reply

Okay then.

😎

reply

I never thought of Dick Cheney as a Muslim.
Now, radical, extremist, cowardly and barbaric -- that rings true.

reply

Also don't forget the original 9/11, which took place in Chile in 1973.

reply

Holy cow. You weren't kidding about Chile. Goodness gracious.

reply

We don't forget, but we shouldn't Weaponize it to create Havoc over the globe in the name of USA First.

reply

The "Never Forget" are signs that were around New York today... that's what I saw on the news.
Not a bad idea. It's meant so that the younger generations learn about it.

reply

Miss Margo, the turning point of WW2, D-Day, is no longer denoted on our calendars. Thousands died, but the war turned in the Allies favor. So sad when our young people aren’t taught true history, whether good or bad. Don’t glorify the bad we’ve done, but praise the good we’ve done.

reply

Truth be told we couldn't have won the war without the valiant effort of the Soviet Union. They made incredible sacrifices. Millions of CIVILIANS were killed.

reply

So true, but Gen. Patton knew what was coming regarding the Soviets and wanted to take them on. What would have been accomplished if he had been permitted to do so? Maybe we wouldn’t have had a Korean war, followed by the Vietnam War.

reply

Forgive me, I am afraid I don't know about all of this. Would you be kind enough to elaborate or maybe post a link that would explain?

reply

Patton wanted to move further East to take cities like Prague. Eisenhower said no.

reply

He wanted to claim these places as American territory???

reply

He wanted Allied control instead of Soviet control.

reply

So... a western bloc instead of an eastern bloc?

reply

The bloc would eventually develop into democratic countries like West Germany became in 1949.

reply

Well, that sounds like the west did eventually win, because isn't that what ultimately happened??

reply

After 45 years of Soviet misery.

reply

Thank you for enlightening me. On a completely unrelated note, what is your opinion of the Montreal native actress Caroline Dhavernas (that is a French-Canadian name, the s at the end is silent).

reply

She has been under my radar. Stonekeeper might know more seeing he is from Quebec.

reply

Isn't it supposed to be pronounced "Kuh-beck"? Most Americans say "Kwuh-beck". Do you remember the hockey team called the Quebec Nordiques?

reply

The Nordiques and Canadiens had a great rivalry, then the Nordiques moved to Denver.

reply

The Canadiens were also the last Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup in 1993. If I may ask a question, people have told me that the word "Canuck" is offensive to Canadians, but then the Vancouver hockey team is named "Canucks". So.... is that offensive?

reply

It is not offensive at all. The Canadiens were the last team to win.

reply

Well, I hate Boston based teams so I was really rooting for the Canucks a few years ago. I was disappointed they lost, but I thought it was pretty cool that that couple was making out in the middle of a riot.

reply

Never forget ... the Quebec Nordiques.
A lot of good names went through the Nords, Michel Goulet, Peter and Anton Statsny, Mats Sundin, Joe Sakic, Owen Nolan.

reply

Yeah, they were a good team. The very first year they played in Colorado they won the Stanley Cup. It is a shame that Eric Lindros refused to sign with the team when he was drafted. Could have changed everything.

reply

My take is they got a Haul for him.
Forsberg, Ricci, Duchense. even Hextall.
I think that helped them much more than his own performance might have. How ironic.

reply

Yeah, I am American but for some unknown reason I have always felt an affinity towards Montreal teams. I still miss the Expos. Go Expos!!!

reply

Don't forget the Vancouver Grizzlies.

reply

Are you Canadian??

reply

No but I like to comment on things concerning Hockey
A weird turn I've taken in my life. I'm from Detroit, which has had a lot success and call themselves Hockeytown. So I've adopted hockey-talk.

reply

Absolutely! I do feel for all of the victims, the ones who died and the ones left behind to mourn.

reply

Correct. I don't see it. I sometimes wonder about just how much history is taught to students in school these days and how many of the facts have been watered down. How much information is even absorbed?
Someone responded to this thread by asking, "Why? What happened?"
I'd much rather like to think that this person was joking around. I'd hate to think that someone has no idea of what happened on 9/11/2001.

reply

The day will come long after we are gone from this earthly plain, 9/11 will just be a footnote in history. I regret to admit someone had to remind me of the date and circumstances yesterday. I had cataract eye surgery Monday the 10th, had 2 hrs sleep the early morning of the 11 th and a follow up to the surgeon later. I felt terrible I had not remembered. πŸ˜”

reply

I hadn't thought about it either, until I was reminded while watching the news. Don't feel bad. I'm sure many never gave it a thought. What can one say? Life does go on.

reply

So great to see you Miss Margo. I always want to be on your good side. Sincerely.

reply

Good to see you too.

reply

Yes, 17 years. Never forget.

I heard a newscaster make that same mistake. He said 18 years ago. I though "huh?" Don't they teach math in schools
these days?

😐

reply

What's crazy is that 9/11 2001 occurred on a Tuesday and it is Tuesday today too...eerie. This was such a sad day in American history. God bless everyone.
