shareIt's been so hot here lately, that one worked for me personally!
shareWe're in a bit of a heat wave for another few days, but it's only bad because the humidity is so high. Today we're under one of those air pollution alerts or whatever they're called. We're getting smoke from Canadian wildfires. It shouldn't last more than a couple of days. When the wind shifts we'll send the smoke back to Canada. I didn't realize until today that Canada has major wildfire problems, too.
shareI didn't know about the Canadian wildfires either :(
Can you smell the smoke?
We got a warning yesterday or the day before about the smoke from the fires up north supposed to be hitting, but I didn't see or smell a thing.
What have the temps been like over there? It's been humid here too, making it worse. Although, we have nothing like the kind of humidity you do, so I shouldn't complain.
I inquired of you about how you’re doing with all the horrific fires in CA. I brought a virtual map up to see where they were. I didn’t get a reply. My grandson is in San Diego. Those poor firefighters...I feel for them. Now more people dead. Hate to think about the wildlife.
shareYou did? Somehow I missed that.
Anyway, thanks for asking. I'm not near any of the fires this time, thank god. Is there a fire down in San Diego too? Is your grandson all right?
The firefighters. I still can get misty-eyed when I think about them. They are read life heroes. I thanked so many of them. Every time I got a chance.
I'm not going to look for news on any of this, or even think more about it. Been through too much.
The following is distressing:

Edit: The one that doubled last night was started by an arsonist. He needs to be locked in a room for life with fire burning outside his viewing window!
My god, it's like the whole state is on fire.
Just read a new thread that said one was started by an arsonist. I just can't even imagine ...
The highs don't sound too bad, low 90s, but dang that humidity! I had to mow my lawn today and it wasn't much fun. I was so miserable that I decided to leave the trimming for tomorrow.
I didn't notice any smell of smoke, but the daylight was a bit weird today because of it. And of course, the stars aren't visible tonight.
What's the humidity %? Low 90s is hot, even without high humidity. With it, 😬
Don't blame you in the least for putting off trimming, after mowing the lawn in the midst of this.
Wish I'd checked the weather yesterday. Now all I can find is info on today and going forward. It says the high today will only be 78! Similar, give or take, for the rest of the week. Humidity is 72%
Around here they use dew points to express humidity Dew points in the 50s are pleasant, the 60s uncomfortable, and 70s are oppressive - at least those are the words the meteorologist for the local CBS affiliate here uses. Our dew point is in the low 60s right now. It's okay if you aren't doing anything, but otherwise, you're dripping.
Look here and you can see the monthly stats for LA. I have to say your weather looks worse/more uncomfortable than mine.

The Canadian north is on fire. Not a lot of people living there so it just burns out. Although there are some small towns under threat.
