Oh, you beat to it, Shogie! Anyone who says he/she didn't cry at the end of that movie is a liar.

😎

reply

I aint no liar😒

reply

Neither am I.

😒

reply

That's the very reason I won't watch it! It would destroy me.

reply

Well okay then.

grave of the fireflies

^Definitely the most depressing I've seen.

hachi: a dog's tale will make you cry like a 4 year old that just dropped his ice cream.

in lots of ways, it's not a great or even good movie. it's very predictable, rote - it's almost like a tv movie at times in the way the story punches the clock.

but it made me cry more than anything i've ever seen or experienced.

reply

Ohhh shit.... Saddest movie ever! Poor Hachi, he was the goodest boye ever!

reply

honestly, if a person doesn't cry at the end of that movie, then i think there may be something wrong with him.

it's the saddest movie ever made!

reply

I sobbed so hard I couldn’t see the tv! β€œHachi: A Dog’s Tale”...a movie to have a box of tissues nearby.

reply

Is it sadder than Fry's dog waiting for him in Futurama?

reply

much, much, much sadder.
i liked futurama a lot, & it had a few good emotional episodes. fry's brother, fry's dog; both of them put a lump in my throat, certainly.

but hachi made me cry ugly, ugly tears.
there are videos on youtube dedicated to documenting people crying at the end of hachi.

and i'm not a crier, not in general. but hachi broke me.

Of course, the tissue box is in use.πŸ˜ͺ

reply

It's so sad, I refuse to watch it.

Forrest Gump. Not the whole movie, just the part where he talks to wife at here grave. As my tears flowed, I thought
"Well there's the Academy Award for Hanks this year. He made me cry."

Interesting. We disagree again as I love pistachio. Word on the street is that they also make strawberry.

Of course I do! I have one who lives on and under my deck. I provide him with food, water and a house
with a heated pad for winter. He's gray, very affectionate, and his name is Harry. I love him.

I love cats and dogs! Don't you?

Danke, mein Freund, and LMFAO over here!

😸 😎

BTW, that's my cat Harry and me. Don't we make a lovely couple?

reply

LMAO over here! Harry will appreciate that.

I can usually tell humor and/pr sarcasm when I hear it, or read it. Your jokes are funny, so I went along with them. It's usually more fun that way.

Cats are wonderful. I have 5 that only stay inside. It is way too dangerous for them to be outside.

reply

I love cats. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't. They're sweet, affectionate, and are great lap-warmers with the added benefit of PURRING! What's not to like??

I can't have one now, but for a long time cats were the only critters I could have. Now I have a dog (again, finally, YAY!), but in the best of all worlds, I'd have one or more of each.

reply

That is truly wonderful MM. Bless you for caring enough for this sweet soul.

reply

Thanks. I appreciate your kind words.

Thank you for taking care of Harry.

Same for me, I love both dogs and cats πŸ’“

I will never forgive them for taking the strawberries out of strawberry ice-cream. Such a betrayal...

reply

Uhhh....there are still strawberries in my strawberry ice cream. You gotta stop buying cheap ice cream, Quasi.

😎 😸

BTW, that's me and Harry.

reply

Yeah but you live in a consumer's paradise MMC2! Here in Austrasia the strawberry ice-cream ain't got no strawberries I tellz ya! And in fact my supermarket doesn't sell strawberry flavour anymore at all anyhow.

reply

Thanks. "Austrasia"?

The Chinese and the Indians. They just keep coming...!

Ah! Of course! Great phrase! Now I understand, mate! (I think.)

😎

reply

Before there was Steve Irwin and Crikey! there was John Newcombe and Bewdy Newk! It's just a common Aussie phrase, or used to be anyway. Bewdy is short for beautiful and Newk was short for Newcombe. John Newcombe was a very successful Australian tennis player.

reply

Do Aussies revere Crocodile Dundee? I, myself, liked the guy from down under. He left us too soon...sighπŸ˜₯

reply

Yes Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) was a working class hero in Australia. He used to have a job painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge before he made it big in television with his own comedy sketch show. He mostly played common working man characters with a sense of humour, which is what he was.

After the international success of the Crocodile Dundee films though he left his wife and kids to take up with his pretty young co-star Linda Kozlowski and moved to Los Angeles, where he has been ever since. So that has taken the shine away from his reputation back here as people say that he has gone full Hollywood.

reply

Ah thanks! It's a wonderful phrase, and I shall attempt to weave it into my Amurican conversations whenever possible.
