What's your favourite video game ?

For me,

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Great story, fantastic graphics for the day. On the PC at hi-res it's really beautiful to look at, and lots of sheer unpolitically correct fun.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour Editions 2004 through to 08 - Also on the PC. For someone who used to play golf this is the closest I can get to it now. The bonus is that you get to play on so many of the best courses in the world that you would never get to do in real life.

I haven't played either titles you've mentioned but twinB loves the PGA videogames. I'll try to get back with an opinion on it. We enjoy minigolf though. B is the sports person between the two of us.

After 17 grueling years, at age 23 since first playing the game, I finally completed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. It was an ecstatic moment I can only describe as blissful. Take that Dr. Robotnik! Your Death Egg is not so tough after all, Whoo-Hoo!

B drives like a bat out of hell in Crazy Taxi. The faster, the better. A real demolition expert who takes no prisoners. Still a champ.

reply

How did you decide which one of you got A or B?

reply

It's the names we were given by the medical team trying to save our lives after we were born. Almost died. We rarely refer to each other by these nicknames in person. If we do, it is said so affectionately, like a badge of honor. Our parents told us the truth at a young age so there would be no animosity in the future. B is not bothered by the nickname, very easy-going and chill person.

reply

Are you talking about your actual twin or just another personality? Because I have a twin sister myself!

reply

What if I told you that B and I are the 7th generation in a row of twins in our mom's family?

reply

Wow, that's pretty cool. I don't recall any twins in our family.

reply

It's sounds too ridiculous for it to not be true. We can thank the Dutch people in our family for the trait. B and I have twin uncles who are identical.

reply

Well, I'm Dutch, but no other twins as far as I know!

reply

I didn't know you are also a twin! It's a wonderful feeling knowing there's someone you can be so intimate with, to understand you better than yourself.

reply

Hear, hear!

Horror games were never the same after that, the one that set the bar for others to follow.

Tales of Symphonia on the Nintendo gamecube. Talk about old school.

There is a battle in my soul regarding all of the main Mario titles, all the way up to the ones on the WiiU and the 3DS. I haven't played the new one on Switch yet, but it looks like it's maintaining the excellence of the series.

GTAV was also just flat-out amazing.

But the one single game that has probably given me the most enjoyment for the least investment, over my whole life, as well as provided the most inspiration, would be Tetris.

I usually list Tetris as what I consider to be the best video game ever made.

So many great Mario games. It's kind of funny that no matter how bad or good Nintendo is doing in the market, count on Mario to keep them afloat and in the news. One title which stands out is 'Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time' for the DS portable system. It is unusually dark for a series storyline of their name, Mushroom Kingdom going against the unknown, the danger seems more real than before, and the antagonists were taken to the next level.

Tetris is so simple and fun. Magical in that it's easy to play and challenging to master. Up there in the alongside the greats like Pac-Man, Frogger, and a host of others too long to list.

Same here, I loved the exploration while twinB enjoyed the role playing aspect. It was our very first videogame we ever completed together, doing so in the company of our older sibling, who was celebrating a birthday no less. It's a wonderful memory. Thanks for reminding me of it!
