IMO I've thought MTV slowly started to go downhill when they've first aired "Real World" but didn't become really bad until when they've cancelled "Beavis And Butthead" in late 1997
To me MTV's best years was from 1981 to 1991.
wasn't a B&B fan like some of my friends but they were funny at times.
when they went to stuff like " Real World " I never paid much attention to MTV anymore
Again , for me the PC turned me off - censoring lyrics of classic songs because they " offended " somebody
