And another one bites, and another one bites, and another one bites the dust.

Forbesanton becomes the latest MC poster to delete all of his/her posts and vanish in a huff. What’s going on? Is somebody wearing too much cheap, girly cologne?

reply

You mean your astrological charts, vast experiences with Eastern mysticism and keen spiritual insight haven't given you a clue to an obvious pattern here by now ?

reply

I think think there is a more sociological reason; so, no. There seems to be something about MC that is causing people to leave. I’d like to know what ideas folks here have.

I like it around here but if people are leaving without being banned then there would seem to be an issue.

Let's reflect!

On a solely business level are we accumulating more new users than we are losing existing posters?

Is there any correlation between people leaving and their interactions with particular users?

How is this place being discussed elsewhere across the Internet?

Would a ten stage action plan help reinvigorate hope within existing members and bring more?

Why don't we have the IMDb emotes? That other place does and that's just a den of trolls from what I can see [giveup]

Onto specifics Ark, I don't think I ever spoke with Forbesanton. Were they a good poster and seemingly stable character?

reply

I've met a former user and the one reason was and I quote :"not my type"

reply

Not everyone's into normative attraction these days Croft. That's cool though, until kids.

reply

Forbesanton was the sixth or seventh sock account of a previously banned user. Hopefully, at some point, they will give up.

Understood Mod5!

A troublemaker I'm sure. I honestly don't recognise the name at all though, must have kept to different boards from me.

reply

If it's Ben,I doubt it

reply

No, different guy.

reply

Speaking of "dust", have you heard of today's dust STORM that killed at least 100 people in India?

reply

reply

Most of the victims were sleeping, that explains the death toll and of course the poor construction of the houses.Sad news

And I see that polle1234 is gone.

If we're talking about trolls causing people to leave, then that would go against the general consensus I think. When I joined I was told that it's wasn't really an issue.
If people are leaving MC then I would say it's simply not offering up what's expected (i.e an imdb replacement) and needs an update asap IMHO.

reply

There are indeed people who’ve left because MC did not satisfy them. I can think of one in particular who told me by PM why she was leaving—BUT she did not delete all her posts and topics. She just walked away. She did not create a topic announcing her departure. She left, and didn’t hang around to see the reaction. What gets my attention is the folks who delete all their stuff. It strikes me as saying that something here had really upset them. It’s tantamount to flipping MC the bird. That’s the kind of behavior that makes me curious.

First, DarpaDrone, what you’re told may not be the truth. Opinions vary. Second, concensus means “general opinion,” so the phrase “general consensus” is a redundancy.
