David Bowie. It feels like he was gone ‘way too soon. In retrospect, I guess that I thought he would be here forever, like the Sun. I didn’t realize his importance to me, until he died. He was never my absolute favorite musical force, though I always respected and admired him. I mean, Heroes? Suffragette City? Ziggy Stardust? The Thin White Duke? The Under Pressure duet with Freddy fucking Mercury, both of whom had Frank Sinatra as their benchmark. Labyrinth? Twin Peaks? One of the first, maybe THE first celeb, to see how important the internet would be? And Fred Astaire-like personal style. In a quiet, determined, relentless and passionate way, David Bowie, née David Jones, made himself a cultural superstar who, in my opinion, has yet to be surpassed, and that’s saying something.

I just watched Star Trek 09' for the first time the other night and I regret not having seen the film earlier. I enjoyed his performance in it. He managed to put his own spin on Chekov's aloofness, the way he sprinted through the hallway nearly sliding in his excitement, subtly reveling in the fact he is a boy genius when cracking am improbable mathematical feat.

Same as the OP. Brittany Murphy. She was great in Sin City. Small part but she made the best of it. Here she is in Sin City.
