What's your go-to movie (or movies) on a lazy Sunday afternoon?
For me it's "Octopussy," "Guardians of the Galaxy," or one of the "Thin Man" movies.

shareThe Naked Gun trilogy.
shareI sometimes throw an episode or two of "Police Squad" into the mix.
shareThe one where he's outside the building hanging on by the concrete dildo and falls into that woman's room and comes at her with it out of sheer disorientation & exhaustion. She starts screaming and she doesn't stop until the following frame which is of L.A. city hall. It's a damn riot.
shareOf all the dumb hilarity in "The Naked Gun" series the crown jewel might be Drebin on the ledge, trying to elude the fire he caused, and the fallout from his antics whilst on said ledge. The scene's highlights for me are Drebin accidentally grabbing the woman's breasts instead of the statues, Drebin nearly falling from the ledge but able to pull himself back up via the statue's member, his mouth agape, and very near the member's tip as he's doing so (the woman, whose breasts he accidentally fondled, drinking in this sordid tableau, and screaming, of course), and the shot of the statue smiling as Drebin grasps its member; it all makes for a bustling, vulgar joy that never ceases to leave one in stitches, as well as amazed at Leslie Nielson's peerless slapstick prowess.
shareThe scene is comedic perfection. And when squeezes the woman's breasts one at a time, a car horn is heard coming from the street below.
Like you said, it never ceases to be hilarious no matter how many times it's viewed. There is no weak spot there. None.
The car horn is definitely, so to speak, the icing on the cake.
I also love when a spent Drebin approaches the horrified woman without realizing the dildo is in his hand. When it dawns on him what he's grasping, Drebin makes a belated attempt at saving face by hiding the dildo behind his back.
lol, Turn, I never took notice of him hiding it like that. It's been on a lot lately, so I'll get another chance.

Silver Streak? LOVE that! Very reminiscent of North By Northwest!
shareBut, the mixture of broad comedy & mass murder is odious, MMC & Barry for that matter.
ADDENDUM: I'll tell ya's though the murder of the Federal Agent played by Ned Beatty is pitch perfect. He's angry that's he dying, his professionalism sets in then, his impatience with Wilder there to get his instruction out to him before he's dead is a moment in that damn film.
Ned Beatty was fantastic, as always. Totally agree there!
share& bless his heart. You can imagine it,,,he gets the script and begins formulating his presence in that film and what he'll try to accomplish. What it looks like in his mind's eye. Gets to the set, the production sits down with him, hears him out, gives their input and he goes back to work planning it, to the minute detail. Then together they get it down onto celluloid. & now we have it, forever.

Hitchcock often does it for me. Today it was Frenzy.

I love Dana Andrews in anything, but, here he's extra terrific. Jean Crain is drop dead gorgeous. Plays the role to a (T). Yes, she's a young girl, but, she's ready for marriage & for a perceived hotshot in Andrews. They'll make an outstanding marriage. Her relationship with her brother Dick Haymes is just the right pitch. His relationship with the married woman singer is complex and leads to heartbreak for them both. The film "cheats" here as he returns home and the girl back home is waiting for him, but, I forgive it.
Frank McHugh has a nice turn and helps the movie move about.
Roadhouse, with Patrick Swayze, probably the most satisfying and entertaining revenge movie to come out of American cinema.
shareRoadhouse is good entertainment but as for " satisfying and entertaining revenge, " Law Abiding Citizen comes closer for me.
shareRoadhouse is more on the fun and silly side. If Law Abiding Citizen is anything like Taken in its style and action, then it has my immediate interest. Action movies are great at passing the time. I put American Assassin in the same category too.
shareThere definitely are similarities, namely being, a thinking man's movie and the wrong man having been messed with.
