The greatest teacher, failure is

I can't stop thinking about this. I've learned my best lessons by falling on my face. Yoda may have been dead for 30 years, but he's still guiding me.

reply

Yes, mmm, mmm, very wise he was, yes, yes.

Another way of putting it: "Failure is a stop on the way to success."

:-)

That little green dude knew his stuff, no question.

reply

Yeah, Yoda is good, but his famous "There is no try" quote is kinda dumb when you think about it. Failure quote is better.

reply

I believe the trying thing in spirit. You don't do anything unless you're fully committed. Don't let trying be an option. Yes I like the failure quote more, but when you consider he scolded luke for failing in an earlier movie it gets a little hinky.

Squirrels develop their incredible ( often very destructive ) tenacity through ' trial and error. '

I owned a property down by the city...the attics were infested with the little thugs when i bought it!
They gnawed the plaster and lath, pulled wires and dislodged gutters and shingles

Destructive indeed!!
Finally got rid of them all after lots of Hav-A-Heart trapping...nightmare animals

reply

Exactly ! They're no longer so cute when they invade your home. Speaking of cute, did you know when they swish their tails it's a signal of aggression meaning " keep your distance ? "

reply

I thought it was a warning: danger!

reply

Its both

1. alert the others
2. put your butt on notice

reply

Many people misinterpret that, like a dog's wagging tail as a sign of friendliness. Not necessarily so. It just means the animal has become stimulated.

reply

Good point!

reply

Yep...adorable little thugs every one of them

Yes i did know that
They really give me the business during deer season...they are quite threatening little jerks out there in the woods
The small Red Squirrels are even more aggressive than the big chubby Greys...those Reds are real nasty pieces of work

reply

Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up

I totally just made that up bro, like just now!!
Im amazing with affirmations
You can feel free to use it😉

This is for the OP, and for the OP
only. I don’t want to hear from anyone else who has posted to this point.

First, as one of my mentors, Anthony Robbins, teaches, there is no such thing as failure. There is either getting the result that you wanted, or not getting the result that you wanted. If you didn’t get your result, change your approach. Find others who are getting your result, and copy them. People who achieve miracles know that there is no such thing as failure. We do not embrace lack of success as failure. We understand that all we need to do is to change our approach, ideally based on models that have achieved the result that we want.

While I agree that we learn more from our painful shortcomings, I also believe that there is more than that: you keep searching until you find a solution that works for you.

And I know actual Zen Masters. I
am their student. They are as far beyond “Yoda,” as Kobe prime rib is Spam in a can.

I'm aware of Anthony Robbins. Most of that sounds like good stuff, but the word "miracles" does not factor into my worldview. And I don't mind Spam.
