What did you watch on this first week of spring?(18/03-24/03)

Not many movies for me but long movies that took me a few evenings to watch:

The Godfather: Part III (1990 DVD) : ‘’ In the midst of trying to legitimize his business dealings in New York City and Italy in 1979, aging Mafia Don Michael Corleone seeks to avow for his sins, while taking his nephew Vincent Mancini under his wing.’’ This movie was tragic. This was a good movie. This tragedy was a good one. I really liked Keaton and Garcia was a nice addition. Pacino's acting was uneven and I was not always believing the character but overall I was moved. 7.5-8/10

The Transformers: The Last Knight (2017 Netflix): I liked the show, the toys and the whole movie franchise but this is the weakest entry story wise and it gave me a few headaches with the erratic cocaine fueled editing. It was still fun, colorful and action packed. I would be curious to see the final editing result on computer though. There must me over 10 000 tiny clips. It’s crazy. Shout-out to my man Sir Edmund Burton. Props to you homeboy, Im sure you get plenty of ‘’whoopee’’ with your mighty knowledge of medieval magic. 6/10

Game Over, Man (2018 Netflix): ''Three friends are on the verge of getting their video game financed when their benefactor is taken hostage by terrorists.'' The guys from Workaholics go Hollywood and the result is highly forgettable. It's almost funny and almost entertaining but it's none of that. The violence was not very good either. As a member of the PWESALOITL association (People Who Experienced Salvia At Least Once In Their Lives) I enjoyed seeing salvia introduced in a film for the first time. He played it well. 4.5-5/10

I only saw Godfather III from your views...i disliked it quite a lot
Sofia Coppola was a disaster, the Corleones were very corny (oof!! That Talia Shire...she was awful)
The helicopter attack was too action movie-ish, etc

The Body Tree (2017) an Evil Dead '82 clone with decent effects, good cinematography, an unknown but fairly solid young cast...
A pretty fun lower budget horror show

The Season of the Witch (1972) very 'trippy' semi failure of a witchcraft film that was just stylish and dreamlike enough to be interesting...not for everybody and a bit slow too

Murder Weekend (1970) rich jerks gather for the reading of a will and begin getting bumped off...made by Italians in the English countryside and more 'Agatha Christie' than 'Giallo' in spirit
May contain MORE dramatic face-zooms than any movie in history
The goofy Bobby/Cop guy was a standout
Loved it...my best of the week!!!

The Walking Dead- im convinced that nobody on this production understands what automatic rifle fire does to vehicles and other piddling objects the characters take cover behind...military weapons would shread through these cars in moments
Still, i do really like the show and that WAS a cool shootout

Night Train Murders (1974) similar in tone and plot to The Last House on the Left...two nice young girls run across several creeps and horror ensues...
Stylish set and costume design, crazy music, decent performances but the ending left a question unanswered as to the fallout for one of the characters
Pretty good though

Godfather III never did it for me . Wasn’t really needed imo

I watched a couple of decent indie thrillers from Amazon:

Dead Bullet (2016)
Desperate to turn his life around, a hard-luck gambler risks everything to sell stolen casino chips to a ruthless gunslinger. It's the worst bet of his life.

Violent Tarantino-esque noir thriller 7.5/10

Dark Harvest (2016)
Dark Harvest's lawless marijuana landscape creates a web of sexual intrigue and violence in which the cop and grower are forced to settle their moral differences to stop a cunning psychopath

A little confusing, but well done indie thriller 6.5/10

The Usual Suspects ( 1995 ) --- A very engaging thriller that initially appears to be a routine drugs and thugs caper until a Mephistophelian character is introduced, giving it an unworldly aspect. Although I saw this years ago, the final twist still eluded me until the last few moments, exactly what a good movie should do. 8.5/10
