Internet piracy
Are you ok with it or not?

Yes.
shareI don't like it. I would rather piracy be abolished everywhere in the world. Intellectual Property is property. If one does not pay the amount of money demanded by the rights owner, he should not be able to enjoy it.
It's not like movies and music are a must have anyway. If you don't have money to spare, you can watch or listen to free movies and music. There are plenty. Granted, they're not the latest and greatest, nor the most trendy ones. But anyone can live without the latest most popular movies. They're not that important.
Everyone is talking about piracy doesn't hurt Hollywood anyway. That's true. However, piracy definitely hurt OTHER entertainment producers. Think about it.
If Hollywood movies are expensive and nobody could enjoy them for free, many people would enjoy more the cheaper movies produced by amateurs and foreign movies. The same can be said with music.
This will make everything better. Instead and producing garbage after garbage, Hollywood would be pressured to produce better movies that are worth the money they asked. They can't just solely depend on marketing or hype.
Amateurs or foreign movie producers would be more incentified to produce more movies because they know people will watch theirs when it's cheaper than Hollywood's craps. Win-win for everyone.
I have a bunch of sstreammminggg subscriptions now.
BUT.........
I have nothing against Internet Piracy. Nothing.
I'm torn on the subject.
I think that people should be paid for their work. I prefer to buy my movies and my music. BUT....there are cases where the music or movie is no longer available to buy, and then I may look to stream it. I won't DL anything, but if I can stream it and I really want to see it again I will.
Where does one draw the line?
It's definitely piracy if someone downloaded a film, made copies, and sold them for a profit. To me, that's wrong.
Just watching a downloaded film? How is that any different from going to a friend's house to watch a movie? Your friend paid for and owns the DVD, not you. If you watch it, is that piracy?
Definitely a grey area.
Interestingly enough, there are "public showings" clauses in those DVDs which means after a certain number of people you need to pay a public showing fee.
