When people say Star Track

Does that bug anyone else as much as it does me?

reply

I've never heard anyone pronounce it like that before.

reply

What??? A lot of people who aren't into it definitely do around where I am, and my mom certainly did.

reply

I guess it would bug me if i had to continually correct people. But no i've never heard said that way.

reply

Same here,I've never heard it referred to as Star Track.

reply

Me either. It bugs me when I hear people say 'track housing' instead of 'tract housing.' Not that this has anything to do with Star Trek.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

I use to say it that way when I was little. One time, when I was looking at the opening credits, I actually noticed what it said.

reply

I am just a stickler for pronunciation, as I'm sure a lot of trekkies can be at times. It's a nerdy bunch

reply

me pronunciation is pretty bad at times.
I say the letter r following the vowel a as the letter h.

reply

I always sing the intrusive R in the Beatles songs that contain it, "I sawr a film today oh boy"

reply

It's either a regional dialect of which I'm not certain where it's from or as another poster has pointed out, someone unfamiliar with the show's title for any given reason. One time that I did hear it being pronounced that way, it was a person who had never watched Star Trek but was aware of it.

reply

Yeah it's mostly Trek newbs

reply

Have patience with them. Star Trek deserves a larger fan base, even if it does concern the in-group about the trends of the franchise.

reply

I’ve definitely heard it. It just gives me a little chuckle.

reply

The new show and movies are so bad that I wisheit were named that. Would separate it from the good Trek Paramount used to make.

reply

Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

reply

Reminds me of the woman who murdered her husband with "anti-free".

reply

Oh man I know all about that antifree murder! That is pretty obnoxious, like if it's your murder weapon, you should know how to say it

reply

I've never heard it pronounced that way.
