Movies you had a falling out with?

I used to watch the original Pete's Dragon a lot when I was a kid. It truly is an irredeemable crapfest from beginning to end and I don't know why I ever liked it. You have any like that?

Oh I just put that together. Who's to say it's not my real name? Me, I'm to say, it's not.

I keep trying to think of one, every time I click into this thread, but so far, I'm coming up with bupkis.

There's got to be at least one!

reply

Gotta be, you'll think of one, maybe think of a movie you haven't seen in a long time, and maybe there's some unregistered reason why, that you haven't come to terms with. Or maybe you just don't change your mind or opinions about things, which is fine too.

The only ones that keep coming back to me are a slew of bad Disney movies I saw when I was a kid, and didn't know any better.

reply

Yes there are some crummy ones there, but I still love many of them too. Sword in the Stone never gets old to me, nor Sleeping Beauty

When I was a kid I used to watch Mortal Kombat a lot. I loved the fight scenes, the music, and the clothes. (I used to play the Nintendo games too. I was a really big Mortal Kombat fan for a while.) I re-watched it a few years back for the sake of nostalgia and, wow, it was terrible!

reply

That one doesn't really hold up, I agree, but compared to its sequel it's pure gold. Maybe watch the first 5 minutes of Annihilation and then you'll be primed to love the first one again, like swinging 2 bats

The animated Beauty and the Beast film. I tried watching it back as an adult and it's pretty damn cringey. Weirdly, I don't have this issue with most other Disney/animated kids films. And it's not so bad it's good. It's literally one good song wrapped up in garbage.

South Park PC principle and the new stuff they are trying really suck

Plus I know every episode by heart, it's annoying, used to stream it for free before hulu

reply

It's actually why I got Hulu, I went to southsparkstudios and was shocked to see only a couple episodes were available, wanted to catch up and so I broke down and got free trial of Hulu and let it roll over. I haven't watched SP since then, couple years ago, but was pleased with enough Hulu content that it became a standard. I think it fills in a lot of gaps Netflix leaves open

Every Which Way But Loose.
It was the first movie my husband and I ever went to together. It was our first date. We liked it then. I just saw it again a few months ago. HORRIBLE! I cringed and couldn't even get through half an hour.
