I'm a little sad

I like CaptainBucky. We were PMing and he comes across as a sincere person. Kind of seems like some jerks forced him out. Am I missing some obvious deception? No reason why we can't play nice.

reply

I like him too, and am still hoping he'll reconsider and come back.

#comebacktothe5anddime,captainbucky!

reply

Another one bites the dust. I just looked at the posting history of an even newer member that I had a nice conversation with and it's all been deleted and she's gone. Yeah...it's sad.

reply

Might that be Anna? I thought she was a good addition to MC.

reply

Yes, that's who.

reply

I just don't get it, the whole Margot apology thing seemed pretty sincere on both sides, and then it suddenly turned into people calling Bucky a phony. He seems weird but not fake or trolly. I'm still not sure of what's real in this situation.

reply

I just saw him as kind of quirky but still fun, never a troll. Just one particular pot calling the kettle black phony insisted on labeling him as such.

reply

I can't say I miss her name-calling and false accusations...

reply

I can definitely relate ! If there's anything that really pisses me off and ignites my combative side, it's to be falsely accused of something.

reply

I guess I'm out of the loop since I don't understand why Bucky is leaving us. He is a legitimate contributor and I hate to see him go. It's always a shame when a bad actor causes someone to exit. My hope is that Bucky will just ignore whomever it is that has annoyed him - don't let the bastard win! - and continue his worthy contributions to this site.

reply

I don't understand either, I won't go too in depth with our PMs, but he said his feelings were hurt

reply

Really sorry to hear that. I do hope he'll reconsider.

reply

If I'm ever a major jerk I hope that other posters will tell me what I did. I don't want to make anybody to feel like they can't come here. This place is fun and there's plenty of room.

reply

I agree! There will always be someone who doesn't agree with what one says.

reply

Touché! I agree!

reply

Kind of surprised certain creeps labeling someone a " snowflake " or making comments like " don't let the door hit you in the ass you on the way out " haven't chimed in yet.

reply

I'm sure they went to sleep and will be up raging bright and early. One thing I didn't consider before is maybe Bucky is a lot younger than me. One mean thing could have done me in back in the day, but now I'd be surprised if someone's online words could affect me like that.

reply

I'm not sure if you've checked his posting history, but he has posted some trollish nonsense threads. That may be the reason some people don't take him seriously.

reply

I did look at his history, and while I agree some of it is a little nonsensical, I'm still not sold on the trollishness. As I said before, he does seem weird, but if there's no place for weirdness on the internet, I just don't know. I'd hate to suddenly get ganged up on for my weirdness which I cherish.

reply

Well, I hope he didn't leave because of something I may have said. I really don't like to see anyone leave if they are truly into talking movies. While I didn't really understand his brand of humor, he obviously had his fan club here. I'm sorry that he felt the need to go.
When a few people get on my nerves I usually just take a little time away from the boards. No reason to leave.

reply

He seemed to think your apology thread was made solely to make fun of him, which I didn't take from it at all. There was really only one person throwing shade and it wasn't you (IMO)

reply

I was sincere in the apology. I did find his sense of humor strange though. Still, it takes all kinds to make the site go round. I was willing to let it all go and to co-exist on cordial terms..... as long as he didn't feel the need to mess with me again.
You and others seem to like him. No need to leave.

reply

I think you're being rather selective, the majority of his posts are more than "a little nonsensical". Most of them are like this one on the Lois & Clark boards.

Hey Dean Cain (posted 9 days ago by captainbucky (2283)

nice panties!

AHAHAHAHA

He's being weird for the sake of being weird. That's trollish.

reply

Yeah perhaps you're right, and it's his right to quit. I've just had some good chats with him. I never indulge super trolly stuff, and I know he's capable of constructive chatting, but maybe he did spend more time stirring the pot.

reply

He also said that he sent me that PM that said I once called him a troll, just something to do for fun. Who does that sort of thing for fun?
Well, whatever.... He may come back. Who knows? Under another name?????

reply

Don't know, he seemed to be taking a lot of ambiguous responses and PMs in a decidedly negative light, so it may not have anything to do with what waa actually said but his perception. I hope he comes back

reply

I'm sure he's capable of more constructive chatting and I wish he would've showed more of that besides his goofy posting. But I have no desire to see him gone, even if I'm not his biggest fan. Maybe he's just being a troll again with his dramatic farewell thread.

reply

Pulling a real Daniel Day-Lewis perhaps, like how many times has he retired?

reply

Ha!😆 Bucky did seem to be jealous of all the attention that guy has gotten for his "fake retiring"!

reply

Well that sucks! I saw the whole thing last night but it seemed he was getting positive traction...I figured he'd stay. Only had a few interactions with him...he seemed like a goofy fucker like me😉 as there is no way to actually quit the site...maybe PMs from members that give a shit would be in order...flood his inbox with LOVE!!! Hard to leave when you know how much you are missed...
