Movie Challenge Y'all!!!

Think of a movie you love and post some dialogue...

Offer a hint as to the context, the lighting or soundtrack, describe a scene...
Other posters have to figure out the movie
I will start:
A few dudes are going fishing...
'Were going to need a bigger boat'

reply

Two mismatched cops are talking to an unapologetic convict about a major crime going down...
Convict says this, very convincingly:

'You know what my crime is?
My crime was being born.
Im 38 years old and ive been locked up for 26 of those!

Ive educated myself in here and ive come to understand that this country was built on exploiting the black man

Of course, i dont hear anything about brothers in your country but your country exploits its own people just the same...

So, i guess that makes me the only Marxist around here, right comrade?

You see, boy, this aint just no drug deal...this is politics, baby, this is economics, this is spiritual!

I plan to sell drugs to every white man in the world...and his sister!'

reply

Damn, all that and I haven't got the foggiest.

reply

A fine actioner featuring a well toned super cop and a chubby Chicago Detective who is quite witty

reply

Red Heat

reply

Yessir! No fooling you bud
What a great movie👍

reply

A sweaty, dangerous jungle and a big gunfight is going down...

Soldier of Fortune #1: 'You're bleeding man...You're hit!'

SOF #2: 'I aint got time to bleed'

SOF #1: 'Oh...Okay...'

*fires off a bunch of fragmentation grenades at the enemy

'You got time to duck?'

reply

What is Predator?

I love how the whole squad unloads an entire arsenal of weapons barrage on an enemy they can't see, emptying their machine gun clips. Taking no chances at that point. And that haunting laugh towards the end, talk about nucular!

reply

Yes Indeed!
Predator was a biggie imo

One hell of a movie!

reply

2 men (1 tall---1 short) are chatting aside a black limousine, rear passenger door is half way open...

Tall character: "Who says they're ugly?"

Short character: "Bausch and Lomb."

reply

Twins

reply

No. The short guy in another blockbuster made a vulgar attempt at (Pretty Woman). The tall guy is a prolific writer in real time.

reply

Shallow Hal ???

reply

Yep! That's it, tex.

reply

Dammit!!
Way off...

reply

I couldn't remember where I had heard the dialog before , but your " Pretty Woman " reference about Jason Alexander and the writer helped.

Didn't care much for Shallow Hal - not much of a Jack Black fan but did enjoy " School Of Rock "

Certain lines from any movie can stick with you-thanx for the hints , Culburn

reply

It's fun to think of good clues which is Yonk's directive. I finally understood that after reading the original post a number of time recently. LOL.

Know what you mean about certain lines. I got 'em running thru my mind night & day, movies & songs both.

reply

He played both characters in this same scene so I'll only give you the character's retort...

..."You walk over, you're limpin' back."

This clue may give it away so I'm blacking it out.
This film is a remake of a Jerry Lewis Direct Hit
.

reply

The Nutty Professor

Murphy played different people in lots of scenes so THAT was a good clue!

reply

Yonk got it!!!

reply

3 male characters in a high rise office. Character 1 has made his request.

Character 2: "I want FDIC. I don't see any of that here."
Character 3: "We're not a bank, Jerry."

reply

fargo ??

reply

Howie got it!

reply

6 month after it's common biographical target had released this production followed suit:::

This character leads a contingent of his fellows into an establishment through proverbial louvers & thru the din states unequivocally:::

"This-all-ends-now!"

reply

Zero Dark Thirty??

reply

No. This character does is indeed put an (((end to This all))) as he swore to do,,,then, THEN, then, he & his Caines traveled SW as the crow flys & a date with destiny.

"Mean old man Mike" from "Breaking Away" would find & side him there. He'll man the on the street howitzer.

reply

More movie dialog :
Man returns to small Southern town under dubious circumstances
Later:
Man: " What happens if a federal man comes by ?
Other: " Oh , they've been known to come by. Also been known to disappear. "
yet another local : " Well ; Not entirely "
Other : " No. Not entirely. The missing man's shoes might show up , or his hat ; maybe even his suspenders. Of course, somebody else is wearing them.

reply

Mississippi Burning

reply

No . This movie is about 30 years earlier

reply

*im going to be more cryptic with this context clue in the spirit of the most esteemed Culburn...

On an island is a road where the old Dutch built up their defenses against Englishman and Indian alike
The modern day kingpin of this famous area has been invited to lunch by an associate...

'Lunch is for wimps'

reply
