Guilty pleasures

You know they're not good, but you don't care. What are your movie or TV guilty pleasures?

Lately I've been all about action movies from the 80s and 90s: Nighthawks, Sudden Death, Universal Soldier, Daylight, Rambo (especially 2 and 3,) The Punisher 1989, Commando, Bloodsport, and on and on

reply

The Glimmer Man (1996) and Fire Down Below (1997). I can't stand Steven Seagal, but I love these two movies.

reply

I love how I can't stand him, I have seen and enjoyed Hard to Kill many times, I'll check out your suggestions

reply

Totally agree with you on Commando.

For 80's I would say Avenging Force, Big Trouble in Little China, Roadhouse, Gleaming the Cube, and Russkies.

90's ; Toy Soldiers, Anaconda, License to Drive, and Surviving the Game.

Most rom coms and cheesy horrors fit into this category as well.

I like stupid comedies and I can not lie!

This is the End
Dodgeball
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Heartbreak Kid
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard
Zack and Miri
Bad Words

reply

Bad Words, yes!

"DON'T LOOK AT ME!!"

reply

I agree with all except The Goods, which I haven't seen. Yet.

Covington Cross. I actually doubt that most people here knows what I'm talking about.

The Postman (1997).

reply

I enjoyed The Postman a lot. Never understood the hate for it.

reply

Off the top of my head.

Graveyard Shift (1990)
Halloween III (1982)
Killer Klowns from outer Space (1988)
Return of the Living Dead 2 (1988)

There's so many horrors from the 70's, 80's and 90's that could make the list but I don't want to sit here all night listing them ☺

HA I like Rambo 3 too. Loved the Buzkashi scene (sheep ball). Its a shame that they never really recovered from the Soviet War. Here's some pics from the 70's. Notice the women not wearing burkas?

I don't actually feel guilty, but movies I know I'm not supposed to like or watch as much as I do are feel-good movies. Movies about Christmas and magic or making your 'dreams happen', movies like A Walk To Remember (rewatched recently) and Center Stage: On Pointe (movie I've watched an unhealthy amount of times).

In other words, I'm secretly lame. Hey, I'm going through a tough time right now and these are comfort-watches.

Oh, how dare you like Rambo 2 and 3 lol. I love all the Rambo films too tbh - especially 2 (Julia Nickson in this and Sidekicks was my everything back then).
