Strangest casting choice?

Mine: Charlton Heston playing a Mexican in "A Touch of Evil."

reply

Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker in Bram Stoker's Dracula
Kevin Costner as Robin in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs in Jobs
Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates in the Psycho remake.

Those are some of mine.

reply

Good ones.

reply

I cant tell you how many times i have youtubed the Keanu/Drac scenes

Comedy gold lololol!

Otherwise a pretty good movie

reply

Jeanne Crain plays a black woman who can pass as white in Pinky (1949)

reply

Steve Buscemi as RABBI Blementhal

Buscemi? a Rabbi??

reply

Sounds interesting. What movie, by chance, is this?

reply

A wonderful find I made:

Norman (2016)

#Norman Oppenheimer is a small time operator who befriends a young politician at a low point in his life. Three years later, when the politician becomes an influential world leader, Norman's life dramatically changes for better and worse.

One of the most original new films I've seen in a long time.

reply

Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

reply

Your picks are the same as mine; Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Holden in Picnic.

reply

πŸ˜‰ Great minds.... right?
Both really were bad casting choices though.

reply

Adam Sandler playing his own sister in Jack and Jill

reply

I honestly couldnt finish it...
You are correct

reply

I really struggled through it. Had to finish it though cause it was on a date

reply

I never saw "Jack and Jill." I did however see the YouTube video of George C. Scott from "Hardcore" reacting to "Jack and Jill"'s trailer ... which is hilarious.

reply

Antonio Banderas - Armand in Interview with the Vampire.

reply

Really? Do you have any other choices? I'm trying to picture someone else.
I'd like to know why you feel he was a bad choice. Just call me curious.

reply

I loved Antonio's Armand too.
However looks wise it's not true to the book. Armand's was supposed to be a blond, curly haired, cherubic looking young man!
They actually got him more or less spot on in Queen of the Damned but blink and you would miss him.
Are you an Anne Rice fan? I've been looking for years!

reply

Ok! Now I get it! I saw the movie, but never read the book. I can understand why Antonio Banderas would seem miscast to people who read the book before seeing the film.
He was hot! That reminds me! I'd better add him to my crushes on that other thread!

reply

Yeah nothing against Antonio, it's just that Armand in the books was about 14-16. Can't remember exactly.

If you mean me Dazed. I read all the vampire chronicle books years ago. I haven't read any released after Blood and Gold though.

Jason Segel as David Foster Wallace in The End of The Tour... David Foster Wallace is one of the most cerebral and thoughtful American writers of his generation. He studied maths and philosophy and wrote about politics and culture in his non-fiction and wrote complex meta-fiction as well, inclueing the iconic novel Infinite Jest... Segel plays him as a dudebro moron... literally has his mouth agape for half the movie, including a scene where he dances around alone like an idiot staring vacantly into the sky above...

Tobey Maguire as chess genius Bobby Fischer in Pawn Sacrifice... Fischer is brilliantly intelligent and intense tall guy... i keep confusing cute and soft spoken Maguire with the guy who plays Frodo...

reply

Having read the book a few times I just can't picture Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby.

reply

Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise or Melissa McCarthy in anything.
